The Deadly Selfishness Behind the AR-15

When things go bump in the night I'm glad to have an accurate, reliable rifle with a 30 round magazine on hand.

Contrariwise banning them won't end mass shootings. VA Tech shooter used two handguns with 10 round magazines... 33 dead.

No one needs an AR-l5. At least no one other than a killer seeking the most efficient weapon that exists for what he is planning. Gun owners don’t need AR-15's. Life would go on without them. But they like having their AR-15‘s, and it’s not their fault that for unlucky children and their unlucky teachers life has stopped going on because of them, a tragedy that repeats itself more and more frequently, year after year. But it is the fault of gun owners that AR-15‘s continue to be on the market. Congress could outlaw them and any other assault weapon tomorrow. States that have not banned them, as Connecticut has, could ban them tomorrow. But the selfishness of law abiding gun owners won’t let this happen.

It’s about as simple as that.

once up[on a time I had a friend, an avid hunter, that wanted to hunt with his son. Two targets, a turkey and a doe. The boy was young but his father was an avid outdoors man. we encountered a problem when i handed the boy a youth rifle to target shoot. he could not look through the scope because the gun was too big. A pistol was not an option as it is too easy to wound. In the end i had to buy an AR 15 with a collapsible stock.
it was not bought for any other reason than to have a special father son moment in the South Texas Brush.

you may or may not be a hunter. you may or may not be a gun owner, you certainly do not know what you are talking about.

"Need" is not a legitimate basis, by itself, for justifying what people may or may not posses in a free society.

I'm not nitpicking anything. I'm just knocking down the nonsense you keep setting up.

Okay. You've got nothing and now you are crying at me. I'm done.

You are dismissed.

Perfect, perfect example of how the gun lobby wants to control the debate. And they have for over 30 years, and how has that worked out for the Country; not for $hit. You've had your turn now it's time to hear from the rest of America and they will no longer be dismissed.
