Given his incomplete financial disclosure forms (over a year now) and his many claims that he "accidentally" omitted information of various kinds on his SF-86 and PSQ paperwork, Kushner has yet to be granted a permanent clearance. Even after a year of trying. ONLY in the Trump White House would such an individual as Kushner have ever been given an interim clearance at the level that Kushner has been granted, and for this length of time.

Simply put, Kushner is another Rob Porter type security disaster and just another example of a totally incompetent and likely corrupt White House.

Porter was not a security problem in the least, so that would be reassuring.

So tell me, how would you have reacted if members of the Obama administration had been unable to acquire a security clearance even after a full year?

Oh, silly me, what was I thinking? If Trump does it, that means it's not illegal...but if Obama did it, OH HELL NO WE WON'T STAND FOR THIS!!!!!!

I dont see much of a problem ......having troubles behaving with the wife has very little correlation to not being able to behave at work, and as for the so-called blackmail risk the solution easy, publish the truth.

As for Obama I was pro Obama till May 10th or so, till he proved that he was not up to the job.....he really had me believing that he had talent, that America taking the huge risk of picking him given his almost complete lack of Track record was a fine idea because Clinton we know about and McCain totally disqualified himself by picking Palin, plus his whole career has been pretty pure suckage.

Porter was a HUGE security problem. People with past issues like his are subject to blackmail or other compromising situations. This is EXACTLY why he would have never been granted a permanent clearance.

Kushner will not get one either. It is also likely that neither will Ivanka.

1. I can tell that you have never had to have a security clearance for government work. I have seen multiple jobs lost because of DUI's and in no way did they affect job performance. Nonetheless, the clearances were revoked and the employment terminated.
2. If you meant that you were "pro Obama" until May, I will assume that you meant May of 2016. That is only a few months shy of his full 2 terms. If you apply the same standard or metric to Trump, you should have lost confidence in Trump in about the first month of 2017. Actually, one could say that his post inaugration "lunitic ranting lie" about being the largest crowd ever, could have easily proven that he wasn't-and still isn't-up to the job.

No, but like the poster said, if you would actually read what people type, he said it would be a disaster LIKE Porter which he is correct.

Or Don Jr or Eric.

It turns out that's not why Kushner can't get a security clearance. From Fox News, via The Hill:

Fox News host Shepard Smith said Thursday that White House senior adviser Jared Kushner’s failure to list some contacts with foreigners on personal disclosure forms he filled out as part of the security clearance process “can be a crime, punishable by prison.”

“Jared Kushner submitted his application, his 'SF-86' as they call it, and did not include 100 contacts with foreigners,” Smith said. “And then later had to go back and include them…but did not include the meeting at Trump Tower with the Russian lawyer and Russian translator. So that was another amendment to this thing.”

Gee, not only did he have to go back and list 100 or so contacts with foreigners that he'd never bothered to enter the first time, but even then he "neglected" to include that meeting (by him, Don Jr., and Manafort) with the Russians! Gee, wonder why? But to make it clearer about the meetings he'd failed to include:

President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, failed to disclose dozens of meetings and contacts with foreign officials in the months before inauguration while he was seeking a top-secret security clearance, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Among the meetings that Kushner omitted from his national security questionnaire were one with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and another with Sergey Gorkov, the CEO of the Russian state-owned bank Vnesheconombank.

And THEN there's that secret "back-channel" that Kushner wanted to set up with the Russians.

So in other words, Kushner can't get a security clearance because he repeatedly lied on his security clearance application - and it's not just that he lied, but that he did not list the meeting he'd had even with the freaking Russian ambassador and the meeting that he - and the rest of the top-level people of the Trump campaign - had with Kremlin-connected Russians in Trump Tower!

But I get it - no matter what, you'll still give him a pass, and you'll still try to find a way to excuse Trump for allowing Kushner to have access to our deepest top-secret information.

I'm guessing Trump will clear Kushner (perhaps today?) to see classified information. I understand he has that power. And he doesn't care what the American people think, just what his base thinks. So, I expect Trump to wave his magic wand, say Kushner is cleared, and for things to continue as they are in the White House. Just my guess.

But, as to the link in the OP, I think this is where Eric Schneiderman comes in. Trump can pardon Kushner from federal crimes such as money laundering, but he can't pardon Kushner for state crimes prosecuted in New York State. Schneiderman is linked and sharing information with Mueller.
