In light of his disatrous handling of the Porter issue, White House COS Kelly rolled out new provisions dealing with interim clearances. At the time, it was unclear as to whether this was a bonified and serious attempt to address the interim security clearance issue, or just an attempt by Kelly to save his own ass. Sadly, we now know that it is the latter.

Kelly released a statement today that Jared Kushner's job responsibilites would NOT be affected by the security changes. As such, we now know that Kelly - who was advertised as "the adult in the room" and the guy who would "make the trains run on time" - has been reduced by Trump to nothing more than a "yes man". It is now time for Kelly to join the "ever growing" list of White House departures.

Gee, who could have guessed?

Kelly is scamming us. I guarantee that Kushner will continue to serve.

I applaud your stamina man.....

Kushner supposedly reads Trump the PDB (presidential daily briefing), because Trump doesn't like to, or doesn't have the attention span, to read.

If true, how can this be that Kushner's duties remain? The PDB is produced by the intel agencies & military, and contains our most highly classified data.

I've got an idea.

They can get Trump to read the intelligence briefs by placing them inside of 'Spot Goes To The Farm' and 'Cat In The Hat'.

Apparantly, his position as "The great mediator/solver of the Middle East" affords him such latitude, despite his lack of proper clearance.

Guy with shady Russian contacts and no security clearance handling code-word level intelligence. Mostly silence from the right-wing crowd.

I'm thinking inside a copy of Penthouse, might be a better choice.

As bad as some of the things Kelly has done are, the alternative is jared winning the war with Kelly ...

Fair point.

How about we focus on the big picture, and have Joe Biden appoint a competent staff!

Joe Biden needs to help elect Democrats in 2018 and 2020 in districts and states where he can make a difference.
His age, handiwork in the Clarence Thomas hearings, plagiarism,
and every other smear the GOP smear-mongering machine will dredge up make him a non-starter for me.

Focusing on 2020 is a ruse, a distraction from GOPs and naive Democrats who aren't focused on 142 remaps in 2021.
Another huge win in Kentucky tonight is just another sign of this new 'wind of change'.

I'm still wound up from sectional wrestling duals earlier tonight, a true war, along with teaching today.
I've never been more proud of our students, the true Leaders and Conscience of our Nation.
And my retired self has nothing on the agenda tomorrow until wrestling practice after school ...

I wasn't aware until you posted here, and I checked.

In a +49 solid red Trump Kentuckian seat, she wins by +46? And +45 over Hillary? Yeow!

But check-out this great article on Lamb & PENN CD-18. I know you're familiar with him, but the article goes into depth on how he is handling the retail personal politics; in short, very well! Hint: It's not too different than the way Doug Jones handled AL.

Politico: Is Conor Lamb the Next Big Democratic Upset?

This guy sounds like a great candidate for the district, especially considering his young age. I think this is how you win back those Red districts. Seriously.

The best thing about Pennsylvania going forward is the new nonpartisan congressional remap drawn up by their Supreme Court. The same map that dumb-ass has tweeted about that GOPs should appeal to the USSC. :lamo

Pennsylvania has been one of the many leaders in bastardized gerrymandering all decade.
They almost went to the CD method of allocating electoral votes as Maine and Nebraska do now.
I really wouldn't mind the CD method in all states, with fair maps for all.
Otoh, DC GOPs said no to PA, fearing more DEMs voting in POTUS years and possibly exciting the voting public.

What state do you live in--CD ?

Yeah, I saw that redistricting ruling, and it's going to help.

With even districting across the nation, Trump would never have prevailed.

BTW, I started a thread on the Kentucky election. Thanks for the heads-up!

It wasn't that long ago that Kentucky was solid Blue..........:)

The sad part is that if a previous President had these kinds of issues, folks wouldn't be laughing and joking about it. Trump has essentially turned the office of POTUS into a very poorly written "reality" show.
