As I read the "back and forth" bantering between Lebron James and Laura Ingraham, a couple of things occured to me as to how stupid her comments really were.

1. As a citizen of the United States, our Constitution gives Lebron the right to criticize Trump. Her assertion that only those who are politicians or politcal pundits should make comments is absurd. Take a look at the various celebrities and "quasi celebrities" that Fox has welcomed when their respecting views comport with their "Pro Trump" party line. Phil Robertson of "Duck Dynasty" comes to mind.....LMAO

2. The "backdoor slam" about Lebron's high school education is ridiculous. There isn't one of us - her included - that wouldn't have encouraged our sons to follow the same course if they had exhibited the same type of basketball talent that Lebron exhibited at a very early age. Yes, Lebron gets paid a lot to "dribble a ball", but that does require a high degree of talent to do it in the NBA.

Now, those are just a few of the thoughts that occured to me. The problem that I have is that those that criticize Trump are as entitled to their comments as are those who praise Trump.

LeBron James was paid to play basketball. He needs to know his damn role and shut his mouth.

Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cavs paid LeBron James to play basketball. He got paid $100 million to play basketball, not to use his platform to make irresponsible political statements.

LeBron James is under contract thus, the property of the Cavs. The fans who pay for LeBron's check only care about LeBron putting the ball in the hoop.

Lebron did graduate from HS. She lied.

Laura Ingraham is pure human garbage.

The woman secretly recorded gay people at private meetings, so she could out them in public, and send the tapes their parents. She's like the girl that dumps pigs blood on Carrie. No decency, no mercy, and no soul.

She has no business telling anybody, anything.

He's a citizen that has just as much a right to voice his opinion as Ingraham or you, snowflake.

She has the same business to tell anybody, anything like LeBron has. :)

For someone that knew that he was going into the NBA (making some serious money) he was quite humble in HS.

LeBron flourishes as a student in the disciplined routine of a Catholic high school: The Making of an MVP | cleveland.com

Many people don't realize LeBron wasn't eligible for college.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association ruled that James, a senior at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, would not be able to play in his team's remaining five regular-season games and in the state playoffs. The ruling also means St. Vincent-St. Mary must forfeit Sunday's victory over Akron Buchtel, dropping its record to 13-1.

The decision came four days after James, who is expected to be the No. 1 pick in the National Basketball Association draft in June, was cleared of any violations after receiving a $50,000 sports utility vehicle from his mother.

This is truly LAUGHABLE. Now, if Lebron has a "No comments on politics" clause in his contract, you may have something. Or, if Lebron missed a game because of him making a comment, then you would have a valid argument. Since neither of those apply, you have no LOGICAL arguement, but nice "Trumpstyle" try anyway.

All celebrities should STFU about politics.......most of all the abysmally ignorant like Labron James.

Good Gawd, he's living proof that you don't have to be smart to dribble.

Most athletes don't even have to attend class and will still get straight A's.

I wonder which classmate did LeBron's homework?

Why don't you just read the link?

Funny, I don't remember greats like Michael Jordan making political comments are calling Reagan/Bush bums.

Um, 45 was a celebrity. He's living proof that you don't have to be smart to be POTUS. Thanks for pointing that out.

Dubya Bush proved that years ago.

So what?

At least Trump is a successful businessman while Dubya was a failure.

I agree totally with ONE noteable exception.

Ingraham wsan't objecting to his comments. She was implying that due to his occupation "as a Jock" and his level of education (left high school), that he should not be commenting, PERIOD. BIG difference between those two. If educational level was a prerequisite to the right to comment on politics, then a good many Trump voters shouldn't have even been eligible to vote. I have listened to a good many Trump supporters being interviewed and many sound likje high school "dropouts". Instead of trying to "muzzle" Lebron, like they do in dictatorial countries, she should be acknowedging our Constitution which gives him a right to do so.

She is yet another example of a Fox commentator that goes "nutso" when someone criticizes the "Dear Leader".

You are seriously conflating TWO disctint issues. Just because some athletes/celebrities choose not to comment, doesn't not mean that they are forfeiting the constitutional rights of other athletes/celebrities to do so.

What if Ingraham (or anyone else for that matter) made the statement that folks in YOUR current occupation should not be allowed to comment on politics? Would you delete your Debate Politics account?

Why just celebrities? Why not muzzle Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers and especially Talk Show Hosts like Ingraham?

You don't understand the problem.

Ignorant ball dribblers have a huge influence on impressionable children.

Most of us have no such influence.

Thus the ball dribblers must be called out and exposed for what they are........stupid. Let them babble......yes, it's their right. Just identify them for what they are.

Well done to all those who call them out.

Her right to do so. Aren't you trying to "muzzle" Trump supporters?!? You're doing it right now in this comment.
