The United States has the most mass shooters in any country in the global world.

These statistics are appalling yet gun zealots refuse to acknowledge the problem - We have the most mass shootings because we have the most gun ownership by a large margin compared to any other developed country.

What is the problem?

1. Too many mentally ill people and criminals in this country?

Oh? So other developed countries don't have mentally ill people or criminals? The number of mentally ill people and criminals in this country is on par with other developed countries. Americans are not committing crimes at a higher ratio than criminals in other countries.

2. Too many violent video games/a violent culture.

We are no more violence than any other country.

The reason why the U.S. has the most mass shooters/mass shootings in the global world is our lax gun laws that make it easy for the mentally ill and criminals to obtain guns.

Gun zealots and organizations like the NRA want criminals and the mentally ill to be armed. They know this. Don't believe they are that ignorant of reality or actually believe the platitudes they spew: "guns don't kill people, people kill people!"

IMO that makes them complicit in these mass shootings. They are definitely an extremist organization, bordering on a terrorist organization.

I am going to use real life examples of this:

There is no federal waiting period. As described below, federal law allows a dealer to deliver a gun to a purchaser as soon as a background check is completed (which usually only takes a few minutes), or after three business days have passed—even if a background check still hasn’t been completed. This gap in the law, known as “default proceed” or the Charleston Loophole, allowed Dylann Roof to obtain a firearm and kill nine people at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston on June 16, 2016.1 This was not an isolated case; each year, over 3,000 ineligible persons receive firearms through this default provision.2 For such cases, it takes the FBI an average of 25 days to determine that a purchaser is ineligible to receive firearms.

How utterly insane and stupid is it to give someone a gun legally if they have a pending background check. That is beyond irresponsible and insane. Many problems with this:

1. a. man assaults his wife and stepson and the Air Force does not forward his record to the FBI allowing him to pass a background check.

1 b. Shocking yet when you talk to people in the NRA and gun zealots, they plead how we shouldn't be restricting guns to felons or those with a checkered past. They hide behind this incorrect interpretation of the second amendment (ask them about the other 26 amendments and they will have no clue about them).

The warning signs were there. People made tips to the FBI. The motto "See Something Say Something," was followed, yet the shooting still happened.
 
The conclusion is this: Groups like the NRA and gun zealots do not have any problems with mass shootings. The more the better. It fuels this idea that we live in a dangerous world and more people should be armed. They want the United States to stay in this Wild West atmosphere.

For 5 years I lived in Broward County. My heart goes out to those killed. It is a shame that it happened because it shouldn't have. Common sense gun laws could have prevented this. The FBI and DOJ do not care about preventing gun violence. We as United States citizens need to take a stance because we have factions in this country that do not want to stop this.

Again with the ‘global world’. Was the world ever not global? You’ve totally forgotten about Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Kim and many communists in Africa and tyrants in other parts of the world who just love their mass murders.
 
I personally find your slanderous accusation that the over 5 million members of the NRA have no problem with mass shootings and worse that you accuse them of thinking the "more the better". You clearly have no knowledge of how many gun laws are now in effect, do they need some revision, clearly. But no law will stop someone intent on evil, bad seems to always find a way.

Another faction that doesn't want it to stop, Democrats. It wasn't that long ago they had the House, Senate, and President and yet passed 0 gun control legislation.......

They could force the ACA with 0 Republican support, but not gun control? They aren't about to do anything because they know they can use tragedies like this to draw support, I have yet to hear much complaining about their lack of action. If this is such an important issue, you should probably look to those that merely give lip service rather than get anything done.

Yemen: 11

90 mass shootings in the United States vs 54, a combination of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th country with most mass shootings.

There are more public mass shootings in America than in any other country in the world.

I notice you use the definition mass shooting, which is different by country, as americas definition used by govt is very lenient, basically a gand brawl counts as a mass shooting, and those happen frequently, while countries in europe would not count that towards mass shooting, and rather put them under gang violence and have a stricter definition of mass shooting.

Also you used mass shooting and not gun violence, because if you did you would not have an argument, as america is not number one in gun violence per capita. Infact according to npr america is number 31 in gun violence, even though by large we have more guns than most of those countries on the list combined.

Fake News. What do you expect from CNN? There are many mass slayings they left out – they haven’t even mentioned the African war lords or the South American drug cartels. Then there's North Korea and China. What a laugh!

Have you read the federalist papers ? These amendments are clear in meaning and even if they were not, possessing the right of self defense is available to all equally in the USA, not just government big shots

The police are not in the business of crime prevention, if they were another 50% of the black teens and illegals would need to be locked up, its not practical nor constitutional.

No life is guaranteed to reach old age and these crimes are particularly heinous but there are things parents can do to protect their kids:

Get them out of the government schools immediately, they are places of human refuse collection who accept all comers, this is not the place for any child you value.

Never allow your child to associate or get near kids taking prescribed psychotropic drugs; these drugs are more dangerous than a live grenade.

1) define what you consider “criminals” because look at Detroit this city has become the apocalyptic city because your liberal ideology this is why Detroit is dead! Mentally ill is the problem and, I’m sorry but, we have to address the mental issues.

2. I can agree with you but, I also disagree with you because you are taking video games and, at a point in history we have seen this before but it is YOUR job to be a parent and, turn off the game for a minute and, have a conversation with your kids about it!
This is where we as a nation we need to sit down with National Riffle Association and, have a actual conversation about we need to do because we can scream new laws all day long but, you are adding more every time.
