Why does Trump keep increasing the cost of his wall?

Walls around nearly every place of importance. I would say all but I am sure there are some without a wall to keep undesirables away.

But I will agree a wall, in and of itself, would not be close to 100%. USA must commit to actually guarding the border to keep invaders out. A wall will totally make that easier and cheaper than without a wall. I would totally be in favor of pulling US troops out of the rest of the world and protecting American borders.
