Hi there,

Did you guys make out like bandits under the new tax laws?

I got my paycheck and found I got $27.48 more, just enough to buy an extra fast food meal for the next two weeks. It this what the Republicans have been crowing about? It sounded like workers would get huge benefits. What I see are crumbs.

How about you guys?

That's a tank of gas to get to work on.

I'll make out an additional $2.5K in income taxes. I don't know how my investments will fair - I haven't looked.

It angers me, though. That reduction in taxes is not a lot. I'd much prefer to not have that additional money if it meant that other Americans did not have tax cuts either. My $2.5K won't rebuild a bridge or fix a budget constrained school, but everyone's $2.5K together would.

Give it back if it bothers you so much.

If you could be sure the money would be spent the way you expected.

I quit my last job over 13 months ago  so, I have no idea ........ :peace ..........

Send it to charity then. And just so you know, that $2.5K you are getting isn't going to take a penny form any of the things you listed.

Wow. Didn't see that coming.... lol

I worked 2 weeks out of the past 19 months :2razz: ........... it's been fun  ..........

one of these days I'm gonna have to go looking for work  ........ maybe ..........

when were the increases supposed to start? my checks are all the same until February. current check is fifty bucks or so higher. i hope that they don't pay for it by ****ing around with my Social Security and Medicare benefits, because if that's the case, it's definitely not worth it.

I do my payroll through PNC and the adjustments started last week. So if you got an extra fifty that is probably what you can expect for the rest of the year. And no there were no adjustments to SS.

I pay my estimated taxes every quarter but according to my accountant, yeah, I’ll save a big chunk of cash. I’ll either reinvest it or give it to our charity.

but, it all ends in a few years, for US little guys that is ......... not for the big corporate entities tho' ........... and the deficit keeps BALLOONING ........

neither side will let it expire, IMO. we are probably going to hit a point when taxes absolutely have to go up, though. i don't envy the party that's in charge when that happens.

I'll get about an extra 60 dollars a month. It's something, I guess. Thank goodness they didn't go after healthcare though. If they removed the EHB requirements, my costs would have skyrocketed.

Yeah, one or two tanks of gas a month is not worth the cost of worrying if the next Congress will go after healthcare and annihilating the services people receive and service providers can or may soon be providing (workers such as myself) due to "needing to get the debt controlled."

So that is 27.48 per check. Which means an extra 400 bucks a year or more.

If you don't like it you are free to give it back. I can get you the link if you want.

Most of them are supposed to start in February. It will depend on your company or payroll company.

Give it back if it bothers you so much.

I’ll give my refund back when you give yours back to build a wall. If you want the wall send in your own money for it.
