Why was the left claiming Memo release would "endanger national security"?

If so you should grow some thicker skin and fast, because the memo is just the begining.
A far more comprehensive and detailed IG investigation has been going on and the results of that IG investigation may be released relatively soon.
 
Leftists made the claim to try to divert attention from the content of the memo. Heres the irony. By MAKING hte claims, the leftists are proving just how damning the memo is. the FACT is

Senior Obama administration officials and members of the FBI senior leadership conspired with the Democrat National Committee.
The FBI knowingly and willfully used falsified data that was bought and paid for BY the DNC to be used as apolitical hit piece...fabricated data obtained through hidden channels by foriegn sources including Russians...the people leftists continually shriek about.
The FBI sought and obtained warrants to use the previously recorded material they already had accumulated WITHOUT a warrant to unmask identities of US citizens, and then handed that material over to the Obama administration and DNC officials.
The FBI then used the dossier they KNEW was a bull**** fabrication bought and paid for the DNC to launch investigations, and they went on to make MORE payments to the people fabricating the documents.
The FBI colluded with the Obama administration and the DNC using known fabricated materials to sway an election and has since the election used that material...material they KNOW was tainted...as a basis to launch investigations in an attempt to undo the results of an election.

And the leftists want to claim its the release of the memo that is a threat to this country and our security?

Comeys comments and the attitudes expressed by leftists in general speak volumes. He and others have been caught lying. They have been caught in collusion with the DNC using fabricated data to launch investigations. They have been exposed during and after an election using known false data paid for by a political party with 'evidence' accumulated by foreign agents to attempt to sway the results of a free and fair election. And they scoff at the notion that its a big deal. Comey is corrupt.

Just a reminder, Bruce Ohr, who was acting assistant deputy AG under Obama, was transmitting Hillary and DNC funded oppo-research from his wife to the FBI.

The FBI then presented that oppo-research to FISA without disclosing the fact that it was Democrat funded partisan propaganda.

The FBI also presented FISA with information taken from a Yahoo article in addition to the dossier. The Yahoo article was based on the dossier...Lol !

The Republicans who read the memo really under sold it and the Liberals in the media that are calling it a " Dud '' are embarrassing themselves.

And the only Congressional members motivated by Politics were the Democrats, especially the committee Democrats.
They repeatedly voted against transparency, voted to protect the selfish and corrupt individuals that have done so much damage to the reputation of the FBI, and why ?

Liberal talking heads are calling it a " dud "...Lol !

I think the Republicans that read it before anyone else totally undersold it. Its worse than I expected and reporters like Sara Carter that have been reporting this growing scandal are saying its just the tip of the iceberg.

Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell was one of the worse. When confronted with genuine/valid questions he went on some of the most ridiculous tirades I have ever seen on TV.

The memo’s content “endangers methods and sources of the intelligence community,” according to Connecticut Sen. Dick Blumenthal, (D). And then their was Sen. Cory Booker, another Democrat, claimed Wednesday that releasing the memo would be “treasonous” and could endangers “fellow Americans in the intelligence community.”

Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, another Democrat, argued that the memo was “an alarming partisan attack on efforts to investigate hostile foreign interference in our democracy.” And Adam Schiff was all over the place spewing the same hyperbole talking points.

The memo did none of these things. It focused on abuses by upper echelon members of the DOJ/FBI. in regard to FISA Warrants. The Democrats have been fighting tooth n nail to not investigate the FISA warrants. They fought the committee about going to court to obtain FUSION GPS bank records. Why? they knew the DNC and the Clinton campaign hired FUSION who then hired Steele and the implications that would create so they fought to keep it from happening.

There's a lot of talk about Carter Page but we know there were other members associated with the Trump campaign and transition team that were also surveilled. And it was the raw data that they collected in these instances that was to remain protected that some bad players shared with contractors such as Steele, FUSION GPS. This has already been determined by the FISA court that these abuses occurred. It was first discovered by Admiral Rogers of the NSA when someone came to him out of concern. Rogers then ordered an audit and the abuses were discovered. Rogers hand walked the information to the FISA court. The FISA court issued a scathing report over the abuses.

It was because of the FISA court's report of wrongdoing that IG Horowitz was called in to investigate these bad players within the DOJ and FBI.

What the media is missing about this story are the number of members of the FBI/DOJ in the upper echelon who have quietly resigned, put on terminal leave, demoted, and fired since the IG's investigation began months ago. That alone should be evidence that indeed the abuses occurred.

I think this episode speaks to just how corrupt our government is becoming but worse, how badly ****ed mindless partisans can be in their blind support of their party.

Now...I'll caveat that by saying...I'm still waiting for the democrats memo. If it offers substantive rebuttal then that will definitely be worth reviewing. If the whole context of their memo is "we hate Devon Nunes he's a poopy head" and the similar mindless leftist bull**** that people on this site have been saying, then all they will be doing is reinforcing the content of the initial memo.

You were talking about all FISA court proceedings being secret. I pointed out that when there are grave suspicions that laws are being misused, you investigate. Now you're going around in circles.

Well it is not a dud. There's a reason that Sen. Grassley and others on his committee have recommended charges be filed against Christopher Steele. There's a reason why this week Sen. Johnson has requested the text messages/emails etc. of 16 more persons potentially involved in this mess. There's a reason Nunes stated there are other memos to follow. The next will be focusing on the State Department.

Yes ! The Democrat memo should be a interesting read, but considering what we just learned, I doubt its going to be much of a rebuttal.

There is no way to sugar coat or mitigate what was in the GOP memo.

The FBI withheld relevant and critical details from FISA to obtain a warrant to spy on the political opposition during a election year, and now we know Comey signed off on 3 of the warrant applications months before he told Trump the dossier was filled with " salacious and unverified " allegations

The additional corroborating information we've been hearing so much about that was used with the dossier to obtain these warrants was actually taken from a Yahoo article that was based on the leaked dossier.

I think 'Liberals' see this as damaging as it is. I think Trey Gowdy has actually stated a position that most Liberals I know have taken...the Memo has exposed some SERIOUS problems in the FBI but it hasnt invalidated Muellers work. It may give people legal grounds to challenge the results...but it doesnt impact what Mueller is doing.

Leftists on the other hand? Fully exposed for what they are.

What the left is so concerned over isn't the abuses against Americans and their 4th amendment rights during the Obama administration. What they are so concerned about is Trump was never suppose to win and all of this would have been swept under the rug.

Oh now that should be interesting, plus there's the results of the IG investigation too.
That should be released relatively soon. I have to admit I was shocked to hear Sessions response.

He said no Federal agency is perfect. Huh ? This is far from some agency making honest mistakes

This was a orchestrated and a large scale attempt by multiple Federal agencies to undermine Trumps candidacy and then his Presidency

A sitting administration colluded with a political campaign to target, unmask and surveill the opposition candidate and his staff for Political purposes during a election year.

Sessions should have announced a second Special prosecutor in that speech, but instead seemed to downplay the significance of the memo

That response barely relates to my response to your statement, which was about "dismantling the FISA system" by releasing the memo. That didn't happen, at all, except by those agents that fudged their evidence to get the warrant approved.
