What the memo alleges:

The dossier authored by Christopher Steele was "an essential part" of the FBI and the Justice Department's justification for conducting electronic surveillance of Carter Page. It also notes the dossier was funded by the DNC and Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Steele said he was "desperate that Donald Trump not get elected."

This "clear evidence of Steele's bias" wasn't reflected in any of the applications to authorize the electronic surveillance.

I'm reading it now. I though others might like to.

EDIT: Why do the memo?

Found Nothing new other than same old claims, yawn.....what a big letdown, was hoping for something more juicy and full of facts, instead is ti just more of the same old same. And the Mueller Investigation will continue on......................

Busy morning, I'll have to read it later and then make some comments. Thanks for the link.

What the left here is not saying is that the FASA warrant was based on Steels leaked to Yahoo news being used as a source for the warrant, as well as reissuing it.

In short the phony dossier has been verified as the source of the FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

Now that was a nothingburger. That's what we have been waiting for? I guess I'll wait for Hannity to tell you guys what we are to be pissed about so you can come on here and tell us.

It’s not a “nothing burger” it’s now up to the Democrat part of the FBI to produce the reasons used to get the FISA memo in the first place.

Oh, so you KNEW that McCabe stated in a closed door interview that the FBI would not have sought a FISA warrant without the FISA memo? You KNEW that in the FISA warrant application or the 4 subsequent renewals the FBI failed to disclose the source of the funding for the Steele Dossier? And you KNEW that the FISA warrant failed to disclose that the Dossier and their supporting Yahoo News story were both sourced from Steele himself?

Adam Schiff, is that you? :lamo

Okay, I just finished reading the memo.

What strikes me the most here is the utter corruption at BO's FBI/DOJ. It's unbelievable. And the abject lies and omissions used to obtain the FISA warrant has to have really pissed off the FISA judge. These corrupt FBI officials have to go, and go now. Perhaps we need a conspiracy investigation of the Queen of Corruption, DNC, and their accomplices at the FBI/DOJ.

DJT was right, it's a flippin' disgrace. Thanks to leftists, who once again have proven they are truly the party of corruption.

Yeah, seems like a big nothingburger.

No one in their right mind should be surprised that Carter Page was targeted for surveillance. We've known since last August that Page was subject to FISA warrants back in 2014; the Russians were obviously trying to exploit him. Plus, Nunes would do anything to exculpate Trump, even sabotage the FBI and our nation's entire intelligence establishment.

The Trumpettes and conspiracy theorists will read what they want out of it, but it's not going to stop the investigation, or even slow it down. *yawn*

*yamn*

No one is suggesting the investigation ought to stop. At least what I have seen/read. Oh, there might be a few, but let's get it all out in the open including the leftist memo.

Awfully strange the leftists had kittens trying to block the release of this "nothing burger" memo. lol

I agree, it's mostly innocuous and will only inflame the people who ignore Nunes' blatant partisanship and Trumpian Toadying. The opponents made it seem more important by kicking up a fuss over it.

That said, there are definitely some problems with releasing the memo. One is that it is full of misrepresentations, which attempt to undermine the integrity of the FBI and the FISA system. More critically, declassifying one-sided memos for partisan gain is a really, really bad idea.

These types of attacks on institutions for short-term political gain are the exact opposite of what we need to see right now. Trump is gradually eroding democratic norms, much in the same way that autocrats like Chavez, Peron, Correa, Fujimori and others did en route to modern totalitarian control. We need to strengthen these checks and balances, not throw them under the bus.

Interesting, the FBI reviewed the memo prior to release and said it was "factually correct." It's fairly obvious the left has seriously corrupted the FBI/DOJ so any disgrace the FBI/DOJ is suffering is the direct result of The Regime. Including The Queen of Corruption/DNC.

Among the memo’s findings are:

The anti-Trump dossier funded by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee formed an “essential” part of the initial and all three renewal surveillance applications against Trump campaign adviser Carter Page;

The political origins of the dossier were “known to senior DOJ and FBI officials,” but those origins were not included in applications to obtain the warrant;

Also used to justify the surveillance warrants against Page was a news story supposedly corroborating the dossier, that was pushed by the dossier author Christopher Steele himself — yet the FISA application incorrectly says Steele did not provide the information in the article;

Perkins Coie — the law firm for the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee hosted a meeting with Steele, Fusion GPS and media (this revelation makes it harder for the Clinton campaign and the DNC to deny they knew about the dossier, though Clinton and other top DNC officials at that time have denied knowing about it);

Steele was “suspended and then terminated” as an FBI source, after the FBI learned that he made an authorized disclosure of his relationship with the FBI to liberal media magazine Mother Jones, and he lied to the FBI about his previous media contacts with Yahoo! and other outlets;

Steele — although portrayed as a “boy scout” by Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson — had personal bias against candidate Donald Trump, telling senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr that he was “desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president”;

Ohr’s wife Nellie Ohr assisted with the dossier, but the FBI or the DOJ did not disclose this connection in the application for the FISA warrant, even though Bruce Ohr worked “closely” with Deputy Attorney Generals Sally Yates and then Rod Rosenstein;

At the time that the FBI used the dossier to obtain the spy warrant on Page in October 2016, head of the FBI’s counterintelligence division Bill Priestap had assessed that the corroboration of the dossier was still in its “infancy,” and after Steele was terminated as a source, an FBI unit assessed his reporting as only “minimally corroborated”;

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe acknowledged to the House Intelligence Committee in December 2017 that no warrant would have been sought without the dossier;

The FISA warrant also mentioned information related to another Trump campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, even though there was no evidence of cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulos;

The memo does not state what the information about Papadopoulos was, but said that information was the trigger to the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation on Russian meddling and collusion in late July 2016 (he had told an Australian diplomat at a London bar that a Maltese professor connected to Russia had told him he had dirt on Clinton in the form of emails);

Peter Strzok, the No. 2 at the FBI’s counterintelligence division opened the bureau’s investigation on Russian meddling and collusion (text messages between him and fellow FBI official and lover Lisa Page show that he held an anti-Trump bias).

Yep. Who have challenged those details and what do they claim the truth is?
