Nashville mayor Megan Barry on Wednesday admitted to having an affair with the former head of her security detail.

The man in question, retired Sgt. Robert Forrest of the Metro Nashville Police Department, subsequently admitted to having the affair with Barry.

"Today, I have acknowledged publicly that I have engaged in an extramarital affair with the former head of my security detail," Barry said in a prepared statement. "I accept full responsibility for the pain I have caused my family and his. I am so sorry to my husband Bruce, who has stood by me in my darkest moments and remains committed to our marriage, just as I am committed to repairing the damage I have done."

Forrest, a 32-year veteran of the police force, retired on Wednesday just hours before Barry released the statement, according to WKRN.

The report is that they had an affair, not that she sexually assaulted him.
 
It doesn't matter ... that part of the bible belt will forgive her (grin).

Nashville is on a fast track to rival Seattle with their liberal spending programs and "real-big-city" plans; I don't think there are any conservatives left in Nashville (sigh).
Megan Barry and her husband are ueber-liberals, so, a little infidelity doesn't mean anything to them (by the way, if you see her husband, you might understand her "actions").

We will see her on Sunday, holding her (ugly) husband on one hand and a bible in the other, while stepping lightly through a church portal.

It's not. You can probably make an harassment case if she's his boss. Even if you don't get there if she is his superior that's a fire-able offense.
