More and more Americans are realizing the DJT tax cuts is leaving more money in their wallets. And not just, "crumbs," which even if it were, no one seen the left jumping in there and demanding Americans keep more.

It's great actually. DJT is leading the country towards success, prosperity, and abundance while the left sits on their collective butts, like they have for the last 9 years. DJT has done more for the working class in the last year than The Regime did in eight.

People are foolish.

Trumps has built his career on this simple fact.

My tax "cut" at just over median wage is about ten bucks a week.

Whoo-****ing-pee.

Pisses you off, does it? I mean keeping more of your money like that, shame on DJT. lol

That's one of the problems the left has. They think they are smarter than everyone else.

Keep up the good work. :)

This will likely become less popular when the pay-fors come later this year. I'm not sure how happy voters will be when cuts come to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security to compensate for the deficit-increasing tax cut.

Lefties always find a way to tear down the right, even when things are obviously going well. Actually, especially when things are going well and Republicans are in charge.

Those programs need to be cut anyway, even if the debt does not increase.

Like the ones that don’t understand how lowering taxes helps the economy?

Trumps did, did he? I’ve heard him praise thousands for being smart. I can’t remember you doing that once.

Who cares?

Whoo-****ing-pee.

It’s not about you – it’s about the effect of cutting taxes for millions will have. Your life will improve in many ways, though it’s doubtful you’ll ever know it.

Vote for me and I'll cut your taxes even more. Don't worry about bankrupting the country. Your grandchildren will find a way to pay.

I'll also triple the military budget and triple our nuclear arsenal. I'll build a wall around the entire United States.

I'll cut taxes and spend like there is no tomorrow. I'll be even more irresponsible than Trump.

I would prefer to have more respect within my government

money is not ****ing everything, although the greater majority of Americans prolly believe it is ....... because the majority of Americans are just money grubbing & hard up for their next whatever that only money will get them ............ pathetic ............. = GOP baby .......

Bankrupting the country? We owe 20 trillion damn dollars and we're not bankrupt yet. You must not visit the economics board very much, where far lefties claim that since we have a fiat currency, we will never go bankrupt and we never have to pay back the debt.

I'm pretty new here, so I haven't been on that board yet, but I largely agree with that sentiment. It's not like we never can or will go bankrupt, but having your own currency, helpfully the world's primary reserve currency, is extremely useful. If we are reasonably prudent in how we adjust our interest rates and monetary supply, we should be able to support a higher debt load than we have today. Personally, I think our debt is pretty high now given what we're spending it on, but I have no problem incurring further debt if needed to finance good long-term investments like infrastructure, education, and healthcare for citizens. Those are all proven to return far more to the economy than they cost in the short-run. Also why I'm against cutting safety net programs, as reducing the material well-being of our own citizens is just counterproductive.

Republicans have never been for cutting necessary safety net programs to the individuals who actually need them. But, they are against people receiving benefits who don't deserve them or because they are too lazy to work (when they can). They are for getting people off of the rolls instead of keeping them on the rolls generation after generation after generation. And they are against the massive fraud that exists in many programs. And, in politics, cutting doesn't mean cutting, it means cutting the growth rate.

So hey, if we just cut all taxes, it should really make the economy skyrocket, right? Come on, man. Surely you can't be that dense.

If you haven't wondered to yourself why certain of these cuts were permanent, and the others only temporary, then you are lapping up such an obviously short sighted wool being pulled over your eyes that you will deserve what you will get. When people are this short-sighted and uncurious, they deserve to be the butt of the jokes of those playing on their ignorance so cleverly. It really is that funny.

These things only exist in the fevered imagination of Fox News viewers.

"Well-meaning people worry about it, while others use it as an argument against helping the poor. Some scholars have even written about it. And it has had a huge impact on public policy, justifying cutbacks in welfare programs...

It remains a strong idea, however, a form of folk wisdom, something akin to common sense in the public mind. But Professor Banerjee noted that “Ideology is much more pervasive than the facts,” adding that the United States’ own experience with both welfare and its “reform” does not really support the charges.

...The studies show most people capable of working, when offered a choice, would choose work, along with the self-esteem and sense of belonging that comes along with it—not to mention the money.

The Myth of Welfare Dependency | Psychology Today

So why do Republicans insist on propogating this myth? Well, for one, the Koch brothers don't want to do it. That's good enough reason. And the sad fact is that most of the people who need it are more disadvantaged minorities, and the racists in our country think this is something innate, rather than a product of the socioeconomic situation. They would rather cut off their own nose to spite their face and do something which might help minority groups more than themselves.

This is not my opinion. This is coming from the most senior Republican Party strategists. This is Reagan's political strategist in an interview in 1981:

Atwater: As to the whole Southern strategy that Harry Dent and others put together in 1968, opposition to the Voting Rights Act would have been a central part of keeping the South. Now [Reagan] doesn't have to do that. All you have to do to keep the South is for Reagan to run in place on the issues he's campaigned on since 1964 ... and that's fiscal conservatism, balancing the budget, cut taxes, you know, the whole cluster...

Questioner: But the fact is, isn't it, that Reagan does get to the Wallace voter and to the racist side of the Wallace voter by doing away with legal services, by cutting down on food stamps?

Atwater: You start out in 1954 by saying, "Nigger, nigger, nigger." By 1968 you can't say "nigger" — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "Nigger, nigger."

Any other questions?

Yeah they changed withholdings so people will get unpleasantly surprised by their tax bill at the end of the year.

This isn't a tax cut for most people, it's a tax increase.

The goal is deficit-spending when in a recession, and then paying yourself back when you are out of it.

The Republicans fought the stimulus when we were in the recession, and are fighting paying down the debt now that we are out of it. As always, everything they do is a$$-backwards.

Would be OK, if they didn't give billions away to the rich people who already have it all. Middle class needs a break, they are getting paid crap and are struggling.

THe hacks tend to ignore the biggest complaint of the tax cuts, giving billions away to companies already swimming in cash, record stock prices, and record profits

The same cycle of stupidity, hey, I got a few hundred bucks, therefore giving billions to already filthy rich people is a great idea. God, people are so stupid.

But, but, but the economy is doing well under Trump, even better than under Obama. And, you guys say that Trump gets no credit because Obama already had us on this course. But, then you say Republican policies don't work. But, if they don't work, then why is the economy still on Obama's path? But, but, but ........................

Not once in my entire life have I ever heard any conservative say that taxes should be eliminated. The ONLY people I've ever heard that from are liberals wrongly accusing conservatives of thinking that way (as you just did). What we want is the RIGHT tax rate. One that provides for our national defense and the Constitutionally mandated expenses of running a nation while not dampening our economy to the point where people are suffering from various problems like high unemployment, stagnant wages, etc.

Oh, so the GOP is just going to run one trillion/year deficits forever, now?

Your remark is either incredibly dishonest or incredibly naive. They even started talking about how they definitely need to shrink "entitlements", aka, SS/Medicare/Medicaid/Safety Net. Because of course that was the plan. Give a handout to rich individuals and cash-flush corporations, then use the revenue hole to continue their crusade against programs that help the most vulnerable. They always knew supply-side was a lie. They're probably laughing their asses off that the big lie worked so well for so long.

Why lie about it yourself? Just admit that that's what they're doing and that that's what you support.

(You won't, of course. You'll just trot out some line you think will *get* me, then move on)

And of course, on top of the tax cut's damage, that big boomer demographic crunch is getting closer and closer. Yeah, we'll have a lot to pay for. They just made it worse. And, as only a correctly cynical person can understand, of course the exact same people who scream about deficits when a D is in office are suddenly going "so what? Nothing's gonna happen".
