Home Depot CEO. Is he smart?

The point is that whether or not you can muster an argument to support his insult, it's an insult a good number of the insulted might have in the backs of their minds when deciding to do their spring gardening shopping either at Home Depot or Lowes.

Yes. When I buy a stack of 2 x 4's that is foremost in my mind.

I don't doubt it since the implication is your side has all the brains. Trump is a sucker for flattery and I suppose his worshipers are too.

I said in another thread that it is fiscally foolish for a CEO to make politically divisive comments publicly regardless of how accurate the comments might be. But the fact that he is no longer the CEO does make some difference. But a lot of people won’t look up that pertinent bit of info and if he is a major stock holder I would still question the wisdom of it.

I work as an Architect and Project Manager for a Design Build company....We stopped using Home Depot when he openly endorsed Trump and this will reinforce our stance...Besides Lowes and Menards are just better...Cleaner, more organized...

The cleaner and more organized reason makes sense. But I find it unlikely your company stopped using Home Depot because somebody who retired at Home Depot CEO in 2002 endorsed Trump. That would make no rational sense.

In normal times you would be quite right. In times of war things change. The Left have almost wrecked America – they have damaged America much worse than any of its enemies of the past. If businesses were happy to say what they thought of Hitler or the Japanese during WWII, then it’s perfectly justified for them to say what they think of the horrible Left vandals today. When businesses are being ruined and put out of business, they SHOULD stand up for themselves. Trump has inspired many to do that, as has Fox News.
