State of the Union 2018 [W:23]

Re: State of the Union 2018

I think Robert Mueller has an obligation to give the public information about what he has uncovered if he wants to keep this investigation going until 2018 midterm elections. So far, any information that has come out has had nothing to do with Trump colluding with Russia. The investigation into Hillary didn't go nearly this long.

And the investigation into Nixon went far longer. Mueller is under no obligation to reveal the details of his investigation to the general public while still under way. No matter how much I want to see it.

Re: State of the Union 2018

By the way, do we know who is the primary writer for the SOTU? If it's Stephen Miller, it's bound to be a doozy.

Good point. I have no idea. It'll probably come with pictures though.

Re: State of the Union 2018

No, that isn't why Trump is in the WH, but thanks for your opinion. I'll discard it with the rest of the right's excuses.

Let me guess...Trump is in the white house because of blatant racism and Russian collusion. Right?

Nope but points on trying to make a more idiotic post then the person I quoted.

Re: State of the Union 2018

Remember how much the media fawned over Trump's "turning the corner," "the night his presidency began," and all that other crap?

I predict just as much will happen tonight. Then he will find a way to **** the undeserved praise within 48 hours, just like he did last time.

Uh, it was me you quoted.

You tell me why Trump is in the whitehouse, then, and not some mainstream GOP candidate.

He's in the White House because of the actions of the DNC and Hillary's baggage.

I'll agree with. Sanders would have defeated Trump. I would have voted for him.

However, that Trump won that primary tells me that your accusation is off base.

Trump has done so many carbon copy Nixonian things... let's just see if he pulls a State of the Union 1974.

"I believe the time has come to bring that investigation and the other investigations of this matter to an end. One year of Watergate is enough." - Nixon

link...

It went on for seven more months.

Does anyone actually listen to the SOTU? I can't remember to ever have listen to any. Usually in the morning after there is a synopsis on the news and that is good enough for me. It's nothing more than "This nation is better off now and doing better since I took office...blah, blah, blah. In the future I plan on accomplishing this...blah, blah, blah. I suppose every president says basically the same thing.

So who cares what Trump says? He has a long history going back to the primaries of saying one thing one day, something opposite the next and then deny saying anything at all on the third. Personally, I don't give a hoot what he says in the SOTU address. I didn't care what Obama said, what Bush II said or what Bill Clinton said or Bush I said. All the way back to IKE.

Trump won the primary off of lies and memes. He constantly touted that he will "Build a wall and have Mexico pay for it". Now that's changed to "Well give me the money from congress to build a wall and Mexico will pay for it later (Maybe)". He said he would ban Muslims, that's changed to "Well only from certain countries". He touted Make America Great Again, but can't answer when he thought America was great and when we lost it so that it needs to be made "Great Again"?

He was the equivalent of the elementary student running for president of the student counsel saying "I will make it so you have less homework and more deserts in the cafeteria". In other words, he blew smoke up people's asses and they ate it up like meth in front of a meth addict.

All of that is true, but what made the difference between his lies and his competitors lies is, he sold himself as an outsider. People voting for him, were voting AGAINST the status quo, which is what his competitors represented, even in the primaries.

And he has proven he isn't an outsider rather he is just like any other big government spender. The difference is that he is a tax cut (benefiting the wealthy by far) and spend and Dems are tax and spend. Guess which one increases the national debt more?

We'll see.

Re: State of the Union 2018

Fake donors' names will be sprawled out for the world to see. How wonderful:
In a fundraising solicitation on Monday, Trump offered those willing to pay at least $35 the opportunity to see their name displayed during a live streaming of the address on his campaign website.

“This is a movement,” the solicitation says. “It’s not about just one of us. It’s about ALL of us. Which is why your name deserves to be displayed during Tuesday night’s speech.”

I will watch for much of the same reason I sometimes watch NASCAR racing.

Wrecks!

I DO hope some body stands up and shouts "liar" at him though. They got one coming.

Re: State of the Union 2018

How great would it be if He walks out bangs the podium with his fists, raises two thumbs up, states "Everything is great, c'ya" and walks off?
