For a brief, shining moment, CNN paused in its nonstop coverage of everything it loathes about President Trump for some actual “breaking news.” One of the network’s reporters had noticed that Congress was looking into malfeasance and political corruption at the Obama-era Department of Justice, FBI, and intelligence agencies. This is still news to most mainstream outlets.

There are now three major congressional investigations, peeling away layers of political bias, unequal application of the law, and, perhaps even felonies by senior officials who may have leaked classified documents, obstructed justice, and violated Fourth Amendment guarantees against unreasonable search and seizure.

These probes center on credible allegations that the FBI and DOJ fixed the investigation of Hillary Clinton to clear her and her top associates, and then launched an investigation of Donald Trump for partisan political reasons. If these allegations are true—and they have not yet been proven—this is the biggest American political scandal since Watergate. It would mean that the executive branch agency tasked with enforcing the law, instead subverted the law to protect its favored presidential candidate and damage the opposition party’s. Then, it tried to cover it all up.

There is ZERO comparison between Watergate and what is happening now.

Watergate: A bunch of hapless dimwits planting surveillance bugs in a hotel room.

Obamagate: Politically weaponizing the FBI and Justice Department in order to rig a presidential election and, when that failed, to stage a coup d`etat. Oh, and then cover it all up.

Thank you for the laugh; that was (almost) hilarious ................

*sigh* Here he goes again. From the article in question:

There are now three major congressional investigations, peeling away layers of political bias, unequal application of the law, and, perhaps even felonies by senior officials who may have leaked classified documents, obstructed justice, and violated Fourth Amendment guarantees against unreasonable search and seizure.

These probes center on credible allegations that the FBI and DOJ fixed the investigation of Hillary Clinton to clear her and her top associates, and then launched an investigation of Donald Trump for partisan political reasons. Anyone who actually READS the above would see that all that is included are allegations, inferences, and possibilities apparently based on little more than hearsay...yet the writer of the OP takes it all as unquestionable Gospel that it all must be true!

At the same time, he apparently think's it's NOT true that:

- two of Trump's top team members Gates and Manafort are facing several indictments (not investigations but indictments for money-laundering millions in Russian funds.
- Trump's AG Jeff Sessions lied to Congress about having met the Russian ambassador.
- Trump's NSA (i.e. Top Spy) pick Michael Flynn was a paid Turkish agent who had been publicly declared a "Friend of Russia" by a certain ex-KGB colonel named Vladimir Putin.
- Trump's son-in-law tried to arrange for a secret line of communication between the Kremlin and Trump's team...which would have been secret from ALL American intelligence agencies.
- Trump's oldest son arranged for a meeting with Kremlin-connected Russians - which Manafort and Kushner also attended - and then lied about it at the direction of Trump himself.

See, all that's just "fake news"...but if there's a rumor of a crime involving Hillary, she MUST BE GUILTY!!!! Which, of course, is why there's so much eagerness among the Right to release the memo addressing all the allegations Volsrock linked to...but for some reason, no one on the Right seems to be wondering why there's thousands of Russian bots ALSO increasing the online support for releasing the memo. One wonders why it is that the Right never seems to ask why it is that Russia is SO supportive of Trump, and is SO supportive of anything that could bring down any investigation of Trump.

WHY is Russia so supportive of Trump, Volsrock? WHY is Russia so eager to help stop the Russiagate investigation?

What surprises me most is that Politico would even publish this article. Perhaps they, out of all the Mainstream Media, want to get out from under all the Trump hate they've been involved in?

To summarize, Trump’s lackeys are sliming law enforcement as it closes in.

A question for you. Try to answer it honestly.

Doesn't every corrupt politician claim they're victims of a politically motivated investigation?

You can cry about the motivation of the FBI all you want. The evidence will be the evidence. If the evidence is verified, the motivations of those who found the evidence is totally irrelevant.

When Mueller presents his case people will be talking about the evidence not his motivation.
