Trump called approving DACA an act of love, but the only thing he seems to love is his base. He is now saying that he will approve DACA only if he gets enough for it. And what is enough, it is as much as he needs to satisfy his base that he got more than he gave and that they approve. Act of love, NOT. So in the DACA as in everything else Trump does it is all about his base. The rest of us can go hang as far as this president is concerned.

I don't think DACA is any more important than confronting illegal immigration. You can find both extremely important, and use one to pass the other...

Trump's base doesn't give a rip about DACA, but will support anything that the president does or says. He can do no wrong.

Sorry, I have to correct you. It's not about his "base". It's about his "agenda". Now...it just so happens that his base agrees with his agenda.

Regarding DACA, Trump hasn't changed at all on the issue, though he IS using the issue to leverage other parts of his agenda. That's how politics works, you know.

"the wall" only solves the "immigration problem" if you are the kind of person who falls for Trump's simple solutions. It's more symbolic than anything else. As long as it's easy to get away with hiring those cheap workers, they will come.

Propose your solutions in the democrat party for nationwide crackdown on illegal immigrant hiring and deportations then..... In the meantime I'll support those who want to do anything about it whatsoever.... instead of total apathy.

The wall is not a perfect solution, I would rather a more strict and comprehensive solution like you would propose, but the democrat party wouldn't go for it in a Million years.... So a border wall may be the only opertunity to do something... It is not the most effective solution, but I do believe it will have an effect.

I don't think Trump has an Agenda, as can be seen by how often he says one thing one day and something else the next. It just depends on what his base wants at the time decisions are being made, and he is told what they want by the most conservative and even racist people around him, Starting with Miller.

It is very simple, all you have to have is two things. One is requiring national ID card. It is funny but when requiring an ID for people to vote, It seems important, but that is where it ends for conservatives. The second thing is a national thumb print data base which is attached directly to the national id card. If someone wants a job, a house to rent or purchase, a drivers license, a bank account, go to school, you have to do a thumb print check to get any of these. Then you make it a really serious crime to help someone get by the check.Without any of these things, illegals will just leave without any pushing at all and it will keep people from coming here as they will know the consequences. As far as the wall, it won't stop anything and the money could be better spent on electronic measures and added agents.

Simply passing DACA doesn't do ANY of that xD.... if anything it justifies illegal immigration. I'll take the wall over nothing.

The wall is nothing and will cost over 20 billion dollars, something that could be used for electronics and manpower. That is something that will work. And maybe you don't like DACA, but 81% of Americans are for it. Of course that means nothing to the GOP. That we found out when they refused to do anything about background checks, which even a majority of gun owners were for and overall over 90% of Americans were for. Of course those aren't the people that pay for their campaigns.

DACA is fine... but it is not fine without immigration reform and enforcement... and I find that the wall is better than nothing.... which nothing is exactly what the democrats want... we don't get DACA with nothing!

That is the problem, the wall is not better than nothing and the Dems have already said they would agree to more manpower and electronics. The only reason that the GOP sticks to the wall is because Trump promised his base a damn wall. I would guess that many of the GOpers would agree with me, but they do not want to go against Trump. Bunch of cowrds

I'm pretty sure President Trump would approve DACA regardless, but as someone who is a great negotiator, he knows how to get something for nothing. Oppose DACA, which he really supports, and the Democrats will beg to get it back. They'll give up loads in terms of border security and a fully-funded wall, most likely. It isn't heartless, it's smart politics and negotiating.
