Party that Hates Government Cries about Shutting Down the Government

Ah, yes. The typical leftist arrogance. Everyone is stupid, dumb, clueless rubes. Except for them of course. :)

Keep up the good work. lol

Well, I do happen to be a highly paid professional in a STEM related field. 80% of the country is stupid compared to me.

Correction: Wanting Republicans to control government isn't the same as hating government

So...you are now contradicting your own thread title, eh?

I'm beginning to think the majority is indeed pretty ****ing stupid. :(

Yep, how else could congress critters maintain a re-election rate of over 90% and an approval rate of under 20%?

So...you are now contradicting your own thread title, eh?

You were. So, I put your statement into a more truthful light.

There are not many things better than being an "incumbent"

Yes, incumbent congress critters enjoy a re-election rate above 90%.

That is why election reform is overdue, put limits on spending and disallow using the office resources for campaign purposes. Maybe term limits, for me 3 terms is enough for anyone in Congress.

I was...what? Contradicting your thread title? Yep.

And then you did the same.

Hmm... who, other than congress critters, is going to enact this "election reform" scheme that you want?

I doubt that any state/district representative is going to decide that it is in their state's/district's best interest to not have senior members in congress like the other states/districts do.

Incumbent (seniority?) advantages beget ever more incumbent (seniority?) advantages.

It's just another example of why the Dems are not in control of anything. They truly are spineless and directionless.

What blows my mind is they lose on topics that over 2/3 of the country supports:

DACA relief: 80% favor it
Gun Control: 70% favor it
ACA: 60% favor it

:doh

Your stats are complete BS

Yes Americans would allow illegals who arrived here as minors to remain, but not to be granted citizenship ahead of legals nor to be allowed to drag in hordes of other "family members" to go on US taxpayer provided welfare"

Gun Control: Politicians are unafraid of the NRA, they are afraid of the US voter. Democrats run from gun control as fast as their little legs will cary them after they promise their crazy base they are all for it.

ACA: Only the people who stupidly thought it was going to be "free" TANSTAAFL

I said reform was needed, I never said that I believe the foxes will ever change the way they control the hen house.

Why add the strawman I put in bold?

Gun Control: Politicians are unafraid of the NRA, they are afraid of the US voter. Democrats run from gun control as fast as their little legs will cary them after they promise their crazy base they are all for it.

ACA: Only the people who stupidly thought it was going to be "free" TANSTAAFL

I guess that puts you in the 1/3 minority.

OK, then you admit to tilting at windmills or rolling over and giving up. The only way to get rid of incumbents it to vote for their opposition - many refuse to do so because they are told to fear the challenger more.

The really sad thing is millions of people believe this garbage. I'm continually astounded by how stupid humans can be.

And then there is this (unless it was a joke- then disregard). You talk about hyperbole on one hand and then make a stupid post like this. Yeah, democrats hate everybody not an illegal.

Oh FFS. That second comment was a joke. You need to stop with your whiny annoying posts and learn that some of us who have been around for a while make jokes to another poster who gets them. And it was quite obvious my post to her was a joke.

The Dems need to find their spines. Christ!

This is one of the many reasons Hillary lost. You can't get away with regularly speaking fervently in support of some principle to your voters, then slinking away when the GOP says "no".

You may have hit the nail on the head. If the GOP is one thing, it's unyielding. The Dems, not so much.

Nope, I am simply a Realist. I agree that the voters need to be better informed and wiser in their voting practices, but once again they are part of the problem, many do not even bother to vote, many are uninformed on the issues and who they are voting for, and a large number will never vote for anyone that is in their Party. In other words: we get the Government we deserve, and until We as voters change in dramatic ways we will continue to get the same results. That Real enough for ya?
