I keep hearing GOP leaders saying there isn't anything in the House bill to keep the government open that the Dems couldn't vote for, is that true? Apparently not. The bill included another way of shutting down ACA,i.e., Obamacare, by removing all the taxes that help pay for it. I don't think any of the Dems would vote for that in any sepperate bill, do you? I don't know all the details of the bill, but I wonder what other things in the bill the Dems would object to. The GOP talked about a "clean", bill, but it seems that they can put things they wanted in the so called clean bill, but not the Dems and it seems they lied about a major part of the bill.

If they only proposed "clean" bills, only one issue per bill, then they wouldn't be able to play their partisan political games. How dull would that be?

I just wished the Republicans would tell the truth as to why they will not pay our troops during the shutdown.

Perhaps you can point out any Democratic Senators who have mentioned this Obamacare issue with the funding bill.

afraid you have it wrong

the DEMS voted no to the CR

the pubs voted yes....

in what alternate world in which you live do the guys who voted for the CR get blamed for shutting things down?

your guys wanted the DACA included....

what is the saying....want in one hand, .....**** in the other and see which one fills up first

give it a week....and lets see what the red state dems are saying....they were already in a precarious situation

Many democrats would vote for getting rid of those taxes. ACA is passed, this would change nothing.

I read your entire article here and I didn't once see anything about the ACA in it, much less anything about removing all the taxes that help pay for it.

If what you say in your post is true then why aren't Democrats using that instead of continuing the talk about DACA? At least then they would be perceived as working to fight for Americans instead of working to fight for people in the US illegally.

They also would never have time to write, debate or vote on all of them - remember that these congress critters work (are present on the House and Senate floor) about 110 days per year. We would have a much, much smaller federal government if that was the case.

The PPACA "Cadillac Plan" tax has never been collected - look for the union label.

That, or maybe they'd actually have to work full time.
