As expected, Trump blames others for his leadership failure.

I wonder what happened between the 2013 Trump comment on a shutdown and now?

I know! Somebody else was President and THEY could be held accountable.

Now, that Trump is POTUS, it MUST be somebody else's fault because nothing is EVER his fault.

The Dems voted by about 90% to shut down the government and the Reps voted by about 90% to keep it open.

Do the math.

Are you calling Trump a liar?

"A shutdown falls on the President's lack of leadership. He can't even control his party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the President is weak" -Donald Trump 2013

How about they do their Jobs instead. That means sitting down and addressing the issues and coming up with a workable plan that everyone can live with, this shutdown will only force them to do it.

"Doing their job" is something in which Congress is notoriously delinquent.

It is their job to wisely spend tax revenues help the American people as required by the prevailing circumstances.

As I see it, they have failed in this since the first time they failed to balance the Federal Budget. They continue to fail every year in which they overspend.

And not do it when your job is really to fund the government for a few more weeks.

Really don't care who is to blame as long as they get it fixed now.

The fact that the government goes through this process every year or two makes me think overall government is the problem.
The first immediate fix to prevent this in the future is to ensure their pay stops just like everyone else. It's complete and total BS that a government can decide the fate of so many other people with zero effect to themselves. By definition of their position, this is corruption to the fullest.

The dems are to blame because they won't pass anything unless it includes protecting illegal immigrants

they put illegals ahead of paying our veterans and seniors

let's just think about that

Why do you think this shutdown is Trump's fault?

Was he correct in 2013?

A simple "yes" or "no" will do.

He was correct in 2013...and, like pretty much all other presidents that I have seen in my life (save Bush 41, Reagan, and maybe Gerald Ford), Trump suffers from the utter inability to admit that anything is his responsibility. Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama had the same problem in varying degrees IMO.

That being the case, none of this is surprising. Government shuts down, all sides wear out their arms, hands, and fingers pointing them at everyone else....rinse, repeat....

This is be over by Monday IMO, and this silly group of egotistical narcissists (on all sides) will continue monkey-humping their way through life....

Who was Trump talking about in 2013?

The office of the president which he is now. So are you saying Trump is lying and a shut down isn't a failure in the president's leadership? Or does that just apply when when a Dem is president? Please explain your partisan hackery.

Was he correct in 2013?

A simple "yes" or "no" will do.

when the senate and house present the president a bi-partisan agreement for a budget and the president rejects it, the president is responsible for the shut down. In this case the house and senate presented the president a bi-partisan idea that he rejected so the shutdown is on Trump.

You have a LOT to learn about life, and incrementally more about politics and government.................)

According to Trump himself in 2013, leadership starts at the top. Do the research and thus avoid the "denial"......:)

Perhaps you missed my other post?

Why do you think this shutdown is Trump's fault?

Because Trump himself said so. Geez. Do you do ANY research at all?
According to Trump, leadership starts at the top and the responsibility for a government shutdown rests SQUARELY" on the shoulders of the POTUS.

Do the research and thus avoid the "denial"......:)

That is not the question I asked you, nor does it cover the Trump quote. Why are you dodging that question?

Perhaps you missed my other post?

I read them both. I responded to the one that I felt that I needed to responded to.

Basically, you have digested only a fraction of what is really going on in the REAL world of DC politics. Sadly, you are only understanding a fraction of that.

I left the REAL WORLD of DC politics years ago. While I still had some measure of dignity and morality left. I watched, listened, and sometimes reluctantly participated in things that I am not particularly proud of. That experience taught me TWO very important things:

1. There are two things that you NEVER want the public to see being made. Sausage and LAWS.

2. 99% of the public has NO clue as to how it REALLY works. They rely on Fox News (not the Fox and Friends entertainment show) Drudge, Mother Jones and MSNBC to get their information from.

And btw, Fox itself even refers to "Fox and Friends" as an entertainment show and not a news show.

I stated my answer in my words. If the house and senate provided Obama (or in this case Trump) a BI-PARTISAN bill that Obama (or in this case Trump) rejected than it is the president's fault (Trump in this case) for a shutdown. Can't get much easier than that. I don't play the "Have you stopped beating your wife? Yes or no" games that you want to play.

Ok.

So the rest of the government is fine?

Trump isn't the be all end all of these decisions or what was proposed.
This is t a football game where the POTUS rallies the troops for a final push, and don't quit and whatever other cliche ctatement you're looking for.

He's an a-hole, he takes no accountability for his statements or actions and blames other people, got it. That does not excuse the hundreds of other directly involved people that are supposed to represent the public but clearly don't give a s**t about the people they represent. They care about themselves and their paychecks.

The federal, state, and local government should get very little monetary rewards for doing a job they should be volunteering for or at least nominated for. Politicians in general have forgotten that long ago.

There are no "have you stopped beating your wife" questions here.

I asked you, plain and simple, if Trump was correct when he said, in 2013:

"A shutdown falls on the President's lack of leadership. He can't even control his party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the President is weak" -Donald Trump 2013

Emphasis yours.

You have not answered that question. Was he correct? Yes, or no?

What part of:

are you not understanding?

I answered your question.
