According to aides, essentially all of them working excursions as were President Bush's many excursions to his ranch at Crawford. Much cheaper to use your own properties than it is to pay the full tab in expensive places.

Since he had never before been confined to one location to work, I am sure, when campaigning, the President had no idea how the walls can close in on you most especially when you have a great deal of responsibility. It helps to get away from it for a bit, clear your head, regain perspective, just be yourself for a little while. I learned that myself when I was executive director of a large organization. Sometimes the stress and pressure of command becomes overwhelming and a change of venue does help. And my situation was far less demanding than what is required of a President. That is why I did not protest any other President getting away for awhile now and then. Sometimes I thought some were excessively extravagant but my argument was only with that and not that they needed a break from a grueling routine.

I won't deny his conviction, but he was an old-school dinosaur that didn't make the change quickly-enough as the environment got more stringent. And most of the complaint was pretty ridiculous. A $200 gift table in his basement? Today, far worse is done legally through PACs, LLCs, law firms & dark money.

He was loved in Chicago, and brought a lot of money and resources in.

Seems you can't read and interpret what Trump said, or remember how much he railed about Obama taking golf weekends.

Can't help you there, and I don't want to anyway.

FWIW, I'm not outraged, just amused about this stuff. There are things Trump does that actually do bother me (DOES is a stretch, because he's just a rubber stamp), but banging porn stars behind his wife's back and golfing aren't on the list.

I think it was maybe the fourth, or fifth time Obama went golfing on a Saturday, a day when slain soldiers were due to arrive back home; so he did both.

And the right, with the identity of "conservatives" erupted in hate-filled protest rhetoric for six or seven months, and was brought up again FOUR years later in his re-election bid.

So to see a Trump supporter defending Trump's $$$$$$ expenditures to fly somewhere 75% of the week ends in a year is ****ing hilarious! I have never encountered such pathetic hypocrisy in my life.

It truly is sickening, all the bluster, all the rage, all the jokes over eight years and now you can find excuses for something that was a major reason to get rid of, what was it Obama was called? -- "the Monkey"?

I don't get too spun up over the golfing stories here either....as long as someone is getting the job done. I am curious about who is getting the revenue from all of these visits, what rates are being charged relative to normal retail rates, etc....though.

That said, that pic of him cracks me up for two reasons.....1) Based on where he is hitting I wonder how good of a golfer he really is LOL (looks like a location I could be found at)....and 2) There is NO WAY that this guy ways 239 lbs here LOL....apparently he had a winch and harness attached to him when he stepped on the scale.

Hypocrisy doesn't matter to Trump supporters. They just want the government torn down, no matter what it costs. They don't realize how Americans suffering because of it will also affect them.

Paul may have to break the Hastert Rule if it's interpreted as 217 of the current 239; otherwise 120 of 239 with Nancy providing the rest, 3 total are missing. Chuck will only get a 'limited' DACA deal in understanding, to be finished by 03/05, in time for PA-18; possible shutdown. DEMs have no reason to trust Donald, Mitch, and Cotton; that's the problem ...
