The Germans will be delighted to take up the mantle. They can start by paying their fair share and chip in 2% of their GDP to their own defense as stated by NATO. And when they're done with that they can pay 20% of the operating budget for the UN.No wonder ... the US money faucet for the rest of the world has just been turned off ...
Let's hope Germany will step up and fund the rest of the world. :lamo

This won't have a significant impact on our treaty obligations or free trade agreements, but going forward the rest of the world is moving on without us. Kind of sad as our nation has been known for over a century for its technological prowess; and while we still may have a lot of aces up our sleeve, nobody wants to deal with a blowhard.
Reality TV president strikes again.
And..........so what!
Are we running world stage popularity contests now for the unhinged to gush over?

Another way it can be looked at is the US is moving on without the rest of the world.
For example, while they are stuck having to comply with the restrictions of the Paris Accord the US is free to make our trade deals without those restrictions. The German auto industry understood immediately the disadvantage this situation puts them in.

I don't want to derail this thread but I'll just say I disagree with that point of view. I believe the devastating effects of climate change are real and the majority are being caused by human activities. I don't believe it because the media and politics tells me so. I believe it because I'm a trained scientist who has read all the evidence, and I also see how dramatically the weather patterns all over the world are changing, causing human and ecological turmoil.
The idea that the U.S. can go it alone out of intransigence and somehow be separate from complex interdependence is not only high hubris it's also totally delusional. We can't separate ourselves from a system that we implicitly created. We also can't separate ourselves from nature -- nobody can. Going it alone is essentially digging our own grave at this point and that is precisely what the current administration is doing. Not only that, we have betrayed all our allies who are not only counting on us to do some of the heavy lifting, but on a human level they really need us in order to try and prevent a totally devastating endgame. Trump chose himself over nation and nation over humanity.
The Paris Accords were our last big shot at setting a reasonable economic goal to curb climate change. Now that the U.S. has stepped out, the planet is ****ed. Maybe when the U.S. is half under water while the other half is on fire, people will surface from under water or stop choking on smoke for one second and realize that science is real and they totally ****ed themselves.

What money faucet? NATO perhaps, but that’s it. How did he turn it off? Don’t confuse his rhetoric with actions.
And could it be possible that the average world citizen just might take exception to his erratic, bigoted actions and words?

If a "world citizen" has a complaint about the President of the US of A, said citizen can take it up with the "world President".
Sorry to not explain more clearly. I meant a citizen from another country in the world who was polled about declining US leadership due to Trump’s idiocy.
When was the last time a citizen from another country cared about American citizens?!?
No wonder ... the US money faucet for the rest of the world has just been turned off ...

This is too easy. Three seconds with google. $854 million came to the US post Katrina. Cuba (Cuba!) and Venezuela offered aid after a storm (Maria) last year. Mexican troops helped after Katrina. Did your homework for you.
Every time there is the slightest tremor anywhere in the world, the US of A are amongst the first to respond ... and we are not talking about lousy $ millions.
So, any citizens of the world who are upset with the President of the US of A should just shut up ... or find the President of the world to complain to.
Except for when it comes to non-voting American citizens in Puerto Rico...where 40% of the island is STILL without power even now.
