Maybe Trump isn't a racist, but he uses the same language that they use, why's that?,Does anyone know?

Bigot works for me. Not all bigots are racists, but all racists are bigots.

Why is it either?

Setting aside whether the remark has factual basis, i.e., whether the countries in question are on some objective level "****holes", or that the President even made the statement attributed to him, how is considering a place to be undesirable (likely for reasons we'd all find places undesirable - constant wars, mortal poverty, political oppression, etc.) a sign of prejudice against certain races of people?

What is gained by announcing bigotry and/or racism at every possible opportunity warranted or otherwise?

Well, I guess the same could be said for a lot of known bigots and racists. Should we just go ahead and declare Trump a Saint and move on?

I don't think Trump is a racist the way some of his supporters are. For instance, although he panders to them, I don't think Trump gives a damn about white nationalism. Trump knows his base, the same people who believed his birther lies, are the same people that are going to believe certain countries are "****holes". He's a race baiter who's made his entire political career, including his presidency, based on race. You take away race, and Trump never has any type of career in politics, let alone win the presidency.

If this were a one-off comment on Trump's part, sure, maybe we could give him a pass...

...but it's FAR from his first time - he's got a long history of racism in word and deed.

In other words, Trump is a racist. Period, end of story.

There's only one problem, your link fails to show any racism by Trump. Care to try again?

There's only one problem - your reply fails to show any objectivity, much less any ability to identify a decades-long pattern of personal words and deeds. It's like you're using the Bart Simpson excuse when everybody knows he did it - "I didn't do it - nobody saw me do it - there weren't any cameras or microphones - I'm innocent!"

Thing is, you're discussing this with someone who was raised racist, who knows - and used - just about every racist insult, assumption, and dog-whistle and certainly used every excuse in the book. He can't hide his racism from me...and you can't excuse his words and deeds - his racism is blatantly obvious. But then, you're probably one of those who believed Rick Santorum when he realized he was about to say something racist, garbled his words, and then said he was talking about "blah people".

All you need to do is provide evidence that Trump is racist, which you've been unable to do.

If he even said that these countries are ****holes, which they are, how is that racist? Explain that one.

Nah...just fall back on your intellectually vacant crutch of everything is racism.

Trump's history of questionable statements is so long that he has lost the presumption that most of us have, that he is not a bigot. He has clearly entered the zone where people really need furnish proof that he isn't.

....and here are a few more. If you don't see a record of bigotry in this, well, the last people to know they have body odor are those with body odor....

I'd like an answer to that question too!

Calling these particular countries "s...holes" is not a nice statement. What makes it a bigoted statement is to suggest that the citizens of such countries are "less than" because they are from there; ascribing common characteristics to every member of a group because of characteristics, real or perceived, of the group.

If you were NOT a bigot, you might say that these countries are ..........., so we must have an affirmative action program to give these people better lives.

Please tell us why you think the economic prowess of a native country should disqualify its citizens from immigrating to America.

You do realize that the average immigrant from Africa is better educated than the average American?

As above, the problem is not labeling the country, but in ascribing the characteristics of that country to its people. The country may be a "s...hole", but its people can still be "rich" and make great Americans. The problem with Trump is that he used the statement in the context of disqualifying their respective people in being American immigrants. Anthony's post that I addressed above, articulated this problem.

It's the kind of thing screenwriters and activists do to define & develop characters for the stories they want to tell.

"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."
"If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside"
"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."

Grasping at straws, grasping at straws.

Sorry, if it's not nice. I'm sure the many "not nice" statements have been made by every President over the years. It's true, although he didn't say it, according to at least two people that were there.

What makes it a bigoted statement is to suggest that the citizens of such countries are "less than" because they are from there; ascribing common characteristics to every member of a group because of characteristics, real or perceived, of the group.
He said they were bad places, and they are.

Huh? We have to fix these countries? I don't know how you got there, that's just bizarre.

Please tell us why you think the economic prowess of a native country should disqualify its citizens from immigrating to America.
This is what disqualifies anyone, from any country from coming here. We say you can't come here, that's it. It's our country, we decide who comes in.

You don't seem to have an understanding of how immigration works.

Uh huh...well. I'll get back later this evening with more of your favorite bedtime stories about Trump's company (along with other antiblack/minority landlords throughout NYC) did have a number of his tenant buildings visited with what was called "testers" to see who was redlining blacks and Puerto Ricans.

I thought you could these, as the ones you currently have do not seem to work too well. You didn't "hear" a word I said.

1. There is so much evidence that Trump is a bigot that he has lost what we all enjoy: the presumption he is not a bigot. In fact, the evidence is so overwhelming, the burden of proof is on those that do not believe he is bigot. If you don't believe he is a bigot, let's see some proof. Absent that proof, he is bigot.

2. The comments he made in the meeting did happen. The evidence is overwhelming. Even the White House isn't defending his comments. While its one thing to talk about the condition of a country, if you are using the condition of the country as a gating item to keep people from coming here, that is bigoted (and, we have already established he is a bigot). If you weren't bigoted, you would offer an accelerated program of immigration for people from those countries as they are ones that most need the chance and are most likely to embrace the American dream.

3. The defense of Trump is getting more and more pathetic. The people that are defending Trump are looking more and more foolish. If I were you, I would defend his policies but distance yourself from his actions lest you also appear foolish.

LOL, what a comical post! You have overwhelming evidence? Well, let's see it, please! Oh, and on this website. I don't do reading assignments, so don't just post a bunch of links, that's worthless. Put it on here, or don't bother.

Oh, and his comments, they did happen? It sounds like something he might say, it's something a lot of people might say. So what? The only reason I doubt it is because Dirk Durbin, well know liar and hater of our troops, says so. I more believe Durbin is lying than anything. But, whatever. Durbin is just upset that he got called on his crap and he couldn't defend it, so now the little baby is lashing out at Trump. Pathetic loser.

Talk about a bunch of fools! Did you see the media question the doctor? What an embarrassment they are.
