May a plague fall upon all their houses.

After years living in the U.S. for 30 years, a 39-year-old immigrant in metro Detroit was deported this morning to Mexico. Escorted by ICE agents, he said bye to wife and 2 kids before boarding. He was brought to US from Mexico when he was 10-yrs-old, too old to qualify for DACA:

Let me guess...

"He shooda follered da law!"

Who ever brought him here should have, yes, they are responsible for this result.

You go ape **** when someone posts a story about an illegal immigrant killing people in America. Yet you want them big tears for your anecdotal threads.

Yeah, because any non-citizen brought here illegally as a child, who NEVER gets in trouble, who's always worked and paid taxes, of COURSE he's somehow a lesser human being than, say, a guy who takes the word of an ex-KGB agent over that of the CIA/FBI/NSA, and who heartily endorsed an accused child molester for the Senate, and who refers to Haiti and African nations as "s**tholes".

Such great Americans they are, who picked him up and took him away from his wife and two children (all citizens)! Besides, since when should we ever find any real meaning in "give us your tired, your poor, you wretched refuse yearning to be free"...those are just worthless words when compared to tax cuts for golf courses, I guess....

OK, what about everyone else in Mexico or the rest of the world that would like to have been here but that did not illegally enter the US 30 years ago? Why, exactly, should some illegal immigrants be given special treatment simply because they had relatives willing to say **** the US immigration laws and either enter illegally or overstay a visa? This is the biggest problem with DACA - those illegal immigrants arriving before or after Obama's magic amnesty window are treated differently than those who (by luck?) fell within it.

We should have found and deported them immediately, had we been a better country we would have done so.

Yep. And just watch as they flock to this thread to justify this barbaric act.

So, since his American citizen children are brown, it's all good. Eh?

But, we didn't. So, somewhere down the line, the statute of limitations should have taken root. A bank robber who was not apprehended for 30 years gets a pass. But, some poor schmuck whose mom and dad brought him here gets a life sentence. :doh

Ya, you know, that idea has merit.....though we are increasingly rubbing out statutes of limitations as this society crashes.

So the original order to deport this guy was issued in 2009. It was, apparently, stayed time and again by the prior administration. This administration refused to stay the order again. - https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/wayne/2018/01/15/jorge-garcia-daca-deported-mexico-immigration/1033296001/

Look, I'm all for making it easier for people to come here on a temporary basis (not more than one year at a time) to work. I'm all for figuring out a way for kids who are here now but brought here illegally and have no family in their home country to get naturalization.

What I'm opposed to is doing these things in such a way that it opens the system to abuse. There is no way that a 10 year old brought here illegally intended to break the law and he or she should not be punished for that. However, once naturalized, there is no way that kid should be allowed to sponsor the adults that brought him or her to this country.

Illegal immigration has to be stopped. It's not good for America and it's damned sure not good for the victims of the crime.

Who is heartless? The guy following the law or the guy who chose not to change the law to prevent this from happening when he had the chance?

He should of been deported in 09, but he wasn't and didn't use the time to make plans for this. He let his family down

should have!!!

Good. It should be done more. The more we do it the less likely illegal alien parents will try to cross the border. I want to see them all rounded up including the DACA kids and sent back. Their parents took a risk and lost.

Poor shmuck should have gone back to Mexico when he was of age.

The statute of limitations only applies to the crime, after it is committed. In the case of illegal aliens, they are committing at the very least the ongoing crime of residing in the United States unlawfully. When they leave then a statute of limitations may apply.

The whole family could go back to Mexico with him ...no?

Facing a deportation order since 09, but was allowed to break the law for 8 more years. Isnt America so nice?

Well, since the U.S. is so horribly racist and saturated with white privilege and there no such thing as ****hole countries, is deportation really punishment?

Did I call it or what?

You called that people on a debate forum would post disagreement with you? Way to go out on a limb there. I’m still puzzled why, if all countries are equal or better than the racist, white privileged U.S., you consider deportation punishment?

I called that the usual suspects would be heartless and deplorable. Absolutely called that.

Why is deportation punishment? You can't answer that, can you, because it would mean admitting that hey, maybe the U.S. even under Trump is still better than a lot of other places.
