Maybe one day people will realize it isn't about the Party, but about the person. This guy was once a Democrat, but change his party affiliation to Conservative Republican in 2015.

Once the Conservative Right-Wingers accept the fact that they hold no higher "moral ground" and that their "moral compass" fails just like their Left-Wing Liberal counterparts do, we MAY start to become a more civilized nation again.

That said, I do feel badly for this guys wife and family. How embarrassed and humiliated they must be to have such a "sensitive" matter aired in public. That said, such inherent outcomes are simply part of being a public servant.

Yes, it is extremely unfortunate that this man has his bad laundry aired in such a way and even more unfortunately that this is to be expected with the life of a politician. When you put that designation at the end of your name, for any reason. You are now going to be within the public eye, until you leave office.

If he just switched to Republican in 2015 AFTER the affair, which means he was a Democrat while having the affair, how does this in anyway, have to do with a conservative right winger higher moral ground? Seems like he was the left-wing liberal counterpart when he strayed.

Either way, his family suffers for it. He's a dirtbag regardless of politics.

A Liberal Democrat when he cheated on his wife, and a Conservative when he concealed it. In other words, he was no better after than he was before.

You put lipstick on a pig and you still have a pig.

It’s not as though this is a new standard! Further on a poster cherry picks that when the Governor strayed, he was a Democrat, well he was caught as a Republican, party of family values.

Even though both parties are doing it?
All it means is that he would have been eventually ousted as a democrat, had he stayed one. So your point is still rather moot.

The more serious criminal action of blackmailing the victim, who didn't want publicity either seems to be getting lost in arguing irrelevancies.

I agree, both sides. My point was a poster trying to rationalize the Gov. behavior. I’m for turning all the rascals out. As far as the point being moot, have the Republicans shed the “party of family values” moniker? Seems like a disproportionate number of Republicans are caught peeking under public restroom walls and other indiscretions.

And they are called out, though its easy to point at such an easy target when that is the motto they tout. If democrats had the motto "we don't **** up..ever" they would be just as easy a target.

If you noticed, they aren't using that mantra to get elected as much as they used to. That's because they are being shown to be frauds. The new mantra is 'respect the constitution'. Meaningless words that help get elected.
