Yes, everyone knows that someone using the term third world is ignorantly using a pejorative against foreign nations in order to refer to the less developed world. It's ignorant; we can all see that. Well, except for the uneducated and those that refuse to be corrected.

I'm not arguing that people don't know what the person means. I'm arguing that it displays a deep and convicted ignorance resulting from enjoying using a pejorative against other nations.

In short: it's ignorant, stupid and bigoted to use the term in such a manner, especially after being corrected.

Do you now understand my point? Or is this still a fog for you.

Haiti has better climate, food, music and beaches. Norway has more spectacular scenery, I imagine, and better trout fishing. Probably break even on friendliness. Depends if Haiti has cable.

haiti has cable, but it if works, that's another story. Haiti has issues with hurricanes and no infrastructure to support such an incident. Crime in Haiti is insanely high and if you are a victim of rape you are shamed.

Seems like Trump should apply the term to US cities, especially since he maintains that crime is up when it is not. Look, the main issue here is whether our leader is mature and trustworthy enough to do his job, and comments like this one show that he is not. He makes us look pitiful to the reat of the world, excepting for those dictators head admires. When our president cannot visit Britain, we are in trouble. Forget about the ****hole question, if you must. It's just a passing embarrassment to the US. He will say something tasteless or obnoxious -- or something racially tinged -- on another topic soon enough, and you can argue that it is reasonable.

S**thole is an insult. No counrty is a hole where you take a s**t. Are you an a**hole?

From my experience, people who resort to insults are seldom intelligent. It's a characteristic of children. When you see it in adults it's a sign of retarded maturity.

Moreover, why do you want to insult an entire nation of people? My family is from Haiti. What do you get out of it?

Insulting a poor country and poor people is just evil. I pray for your soul that one day you can be free of this evil which blinds you. I pray for the president's soul and for our country which is being attacked by evil.

Yes, the poorest of the poor in Haiti have terrible saniton and sewage systems. It's true in every third world country. We're lucky we don't live in abject poverty. I thank God for what I have.

This, this, and more of this...I stole this quote from page 11 but this is what hits the mark. You saying that Haiti is a s***hole country is completely different than the President of the United States saying it. How do you not see this? I personally would not call Haiti or African countries s***holes because of I have done humanitarian work in both and have met and help amazing people there. To hear this statement come from the President of my country is a disgrace and an embarrassment. This 4th grader has no limits...Can someone please give him a lolly pop so he can stop embarrassing this country....

We can compare "good works" any day you want.


They are ****hole countries. Identifying the problem instead of being #triggered by true words is how we start fixing things. If you getancer do I say "well you have a little cancer, good luck" or do I say "sorry man your cancer is going to kill you if you don't do a, b and c" which is better?


The fine people of these ****hole countries deserve better.

As usual the left takes Trump too literally. With Trump you can't take him literally because he is not an elegant speaker and often the words that come out don't truly represent what he was trying to get across. Basically, he meant that people entering the country should be of some value to the country right from the get go and not have to be taken care of by the US government. And, with these countries mentioned, there are many that come here and immediately get on the government assistance rolls where they are not only of no value but are actually a negative value. Trump is not a politically correct person and meant that if someone from one of these countries was a value to our society that he would prefer one of those people compared to someone from Norway who might immediately get on government assistance and be of no value. But, the fact remains, these countries are more ****hole countries than Norway is.

Murders and crime appear to be down in Detroit and Newark, lowest rates in decades depending on which city or crimes...homicides up in Chicago, other crimes may be down. A mixed bag. But in general crime is down significantly from the 1970s, albeit with a recent uptick in some places that bears watching.

The question is whether it is a good thing to have a president who spreads false information about crime, exaggerates the situation that minorities find themselves in, tells easily disproved lies, rarely offers evidence of his broad and sweeping statements, insults our allies and seems to comfort dictators. I assume it is not. Trump supporters give me the impression they do not mind being lied to.
