If the Conservative Right Wing "nutjobs" were willing to rally in support of a child preditor in Alabama, they should have no problem whatsoever with a bonified racist in Arizona.

The Arizona senate race is a tossup as it stands now with the Republicans going with either Ward or McSally vs. Democrat Sinema. If the Republicans nominate Arpaio, that would make in my opinion the Democrat the favorite and most likely winner. Arpaio would follow the more extreme GOP senate nominations of Moore, Alabama, then Aiken in Missouri, Mourdock in Indiana in 2012. All seats that should have be easily won by the Republicans, but lost due to the GOP nominating some far out wacko.

Also don't for O'Donnell and Angle in 2010. The Republicans recently has had a trend to nominate a far out wacko for a seat they should have had in the bag. Then lose the general. This is a case of the Republicans not learning from history.

I greatly hope the right wings beloved "Sheriff Joe" wins the GOP nomination for US Senate.
 
Besides the fact that the guy is 147 years old, he's a lunatic. Roy Moore without the urge to feel up little girls through their training bras.

Once upon a time, My grandmother told me "You can make anything idiot proof.....but only idiots will want to use it". ( or vote for it, as the case may be)

I'm absolutely certain Arpaio has enough base support to win the primary and hold over 40% in the general. But, I suspect we will have a D senator in AZ if he stays in the race.

I will go to Phoenix often enough in 2018 to actually troll some of the locals, if it's a reality. So, hell, I'd throw in a few bucks just for that opportunity alone.

If we all here pool our collective funds, perhaps we can raise as much as four or five dollars for a NOMINATE SHERIFF JOE fund and you can represent us at the head table and major find raising dinners. Through you in Phoenix, we could wield some really power and influence with Sheriff Joe.

In my hay day my research indicated that few 17 year old high school girls were wearing "training bras" Possibly some bras were a bit "augmented" but none were doing any "training"

His county is metro. THe rural rubes will vote for him though, probably enough of them in the GOP to secure a primary victory. But, yeah--he'll get smoked in the general.

Not a lot of rural folks out there, huge swaths of empty space and Indian reservations, they won't vote for him. Kristen Sinema is going to win whoever she faces, she is good, and has a lot of support from both parties and independents.
 
As long as people don't vote, or have the mindset that their vote doesn't matter, and we continue to get appalling voter turnout, we are going to continue to end up with hateful, bigoted scumbags like this. Because hate and fear is what they sell to the staunch right wingers and that is a strong motivation for these people.

If voter turnout isn't high next election, we are doomed. THe only way these types of republicans win is if people don't vote, why do you think they work so hard to suppress voters and try to disenfranchise them. Because that's the only way they can win, along with gerrymandering

My bet is Kyrsten Sinema will get the Democratic nod and will win the general. Though both Ward and Arpaio do have a base to work from.

I personally don't particularly like Ward or Arpaio for the Senate. Sinema may be ok if she holds to willing to work with Republicans on issues.

It is time our elected officials look at what is good for the people they represent and not what is "good for the party".

Tuscon, Winslow and all the small towns in points between harbor a lot on conservatives. As do the suburbs of Phoenix.

Yep. Bipartisan compromise on sensible legislation would be nice.
