Imagine a M*A*S*H in which Frank Burns and Hot Lips Houlihan are the heros with their humorless SJW prudery and Pierce and Trapper John are the lecherous evil villains, pawing and molesting women all the time.

Frank Burns (Robert Duvall) and Margaret “Hotlips” O’Houlihan (Sally Kellerman) are the insufferable Social Justice Warriors of their time — pious, smug, hypocritical, bossy snitches, forever sucking up to the Establishment. They are nothing less than stand-ins for today’s left as personified by the elite media. Cutting them down to size are Hawkeye (Donald Sutherland) and Trapper John (Elliott Gould), two characters whose fun-loving attitude in pursuit of personal freedom would be villainized onscreen today as sexist and racist (they are not), as cisgender white males in need of a stern lecture from Hot Lips, who would now be portrayed as the movie’s heroine — sorry, hero.

That's the world we live in now, the world of #MeToo and the Pervnado.

It has gotten to the point that French women, French women, mind you, have gotten together in a petition to say this is nuts.

The letter, signed by renowned French actress Catherine Deneuve as well as writers, historians, journalists and entertainers, was published in Le Monde to “we defend freedom to importune, indispensable to sexual freedom.”

“Rape is a crime, but trying to seduce someone, even persistently or back-handedly, is not — nor is men being gentlemanly a macho attack,” the letter said.

“Men have been punished summarily, forced out of their jobs when all they did was touch someone’s knee or try to steal a kiss.”

Those of you who get all huffy with indignation about this should remember: Franks Burns. That's you.

It's indeed a bizarre world when this kind of thing, assigning partisan political qualities to characters in a 50 year old movie, is considered worth writing and publishing and posting in a discussion group.

Women will pay the price. Why hire a lawsuit?

We only hired older women and absolutely would not hire young attractive women. Totally not worth the headaches with them distracting a mostly young male crew. And that was back in 2013.

Yeah, what's a little age discrimination amongst friends, right? That certainly won't lead to a lawsuit at all...

It’s it never a written policy. It’s a culture.

In fact now it all about screening out with the use of social media.

Is there a middleground for you or should men just not interact women to avoid accidentally offending them?

Picture this, Alan Alda's character would be an evil Conservative by today's standards.

Don't mind him, to him everyone who disagrees with the SJW agenda is a racist or a sexist, he's a hammer and everything is a nail; No room for nuance.

LOL Frank Burns was the only Conservative trying to maintain the status quo.

No, he's saying that there is a difference between flirting and sexual harassment. Yes, it is possible to cross the line from one to the other, but simple flirting (prior to "Stop it, I'm not interested.") is not sexual harassment.

Same old shoe.
On May 18, 1992, Murphy Brown gave birth to a baby boy, and the millions of Americans who watched made it the No. 1-rated sitcom episode of the week. A day later, Quayle was making a campaign speech at the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco. He was well on his way toward making an important statement about the serious responsibility of childbearing and its impact on society when suddenly, he took a hard right turn and squared off against his longtime fictional nemesis by saying that Murphy was "mocking the importance of fathers by bearing a child alone and calling it 'just another lifestyle choice.' " Hardly!

Judging by his wildly off-base remark, the vice president had not seen the episode. I was told his staff tried to get him to delete the sentence from his speech. They had followed the fourth season and watched the final episode and knew there was nothing trivial about Murphy's choice. But Quayle was loaded for bear. And he sensed that by taking aim at one of America's most popular characters, he was sure to call attention to his message promoting "family values."

Speaking of Dan Quayle and 'Murphy Brown' ... [Blowback] - latimes

Someone is pushing their silly values...

Depends on the state. Also, a lawsuit doesn't always have to be regarding a clear violation of the law and even dismissed lawsuits can be costly. Throw in the fact he seemingly stated this policy was applied only to women and you could even have yourself a lawsuit on multiple fronts.

I'm certainly not his employer, but it sure does seem to me it would be a much wiser move to simply hire based on qualifications, rather than age and sex.

No is don’t think there is a middle ground for sexual harrsssment in the workplace. Maybe you think women are just objects to get you hard while at work but they surely don’t think so.

According to the article he agreed with, that article stated that women should deal with constant flirting even on a daily basis even if it’s unwanted. Sorry don’t agree that. The workplace should be free of that and so should women.

Why is the fact that they're french women remarkable?

I think it's strange that some French think we Americans are becoming too extreme and unjust in our little cultural revolution.

Who in their right mind would have them around at work at all if they are this fragile and prone to take offense? Who needs that headache?

I suggest that we might want to dress them in black clothes that hide all sexually distinctive anatomy and never have them go out in public without a trustworthy escort. That's the only thing that will keep them safe from all this attention that they feel so oppressed by.
