Twenty years ago Trump stated that Bill Clinton should have taken the fifth amendment in his interview with Starr's team, when questioned about his affair with Lewinsky.

Now, it appears he will become the second sitting president of the United States to be called for grand jury testimony, in an investigation where he is a target, in a far more serious matter.

Will he take the fifth, or will he run his mouth? My guess is he will take the fifth out of his lawyers advise -- it's their best option.

I would rather see Trump take the 5th than he use the typical " I can't Remember " line.

All these investigations over the last few years are like Chihuahua chasing a semi. The best will roll on even if you snip at the bumper.

Justice and laws are for the other guys, ours get a pass

Oh noes...............lol

From a legal strategy standpoint, Trump was right as Clinton's testimony constituted perjury. My question to you: did you intend to praise Donald Trump here, or did that just happen by accident?

temper tantrum trump should not be held accountable for anything he's said during his entire lifetime ...

I don't think he'll take it.

His ego is too big, and I believe his sense of political mood will force him to conclude refusing to testify would hurt him.

All one would have to say, is:

"Well gee, Donald. Hillary testified in public for over 10 hours straight, and beat them all, coming out smelling like a rose!"

:lamo

DJT under oath would be every prosecuting attorney's dream witness. Trump under oath would also be every defense lawyers worst nightmare. Just imagine having a client with the consitutional right to remain silent, but no ability to do so. I've seen tapes of Trump being deposed, it's hilarious.

Very true.

I have no doubt that he would like to sit down with Mueller, but it's crystal clear his attorney's do not. They know it's a Chernobyl of perjury and obstruction, just waiting to happen.

His attorney's will do everything they can to keep Mueller's team from sitting down with him, make unreasonable rules, dragging their feet on a date, make legal arguments against it, etc.

If it does ultimately happen (which it will) then he'll simply have to take the fifth, or his attorney's will drop him -- or at least Cobb will.

Never thought I would see a thread praising Trump from the likes of you.

DJT SATURDAY
"Just so you understand, there's been no collusion, there's been no crime, and in theory everybody tells me I'm not under investigation -- maybe Hillary (Clinton) is, I don't know -- but I'm not, but we have been very open. We could have done it two ways. We could have been very closed, and it would have taken years. But you know, sort of like when you've done nothing wrong, let's be open and get it over with, because, honestly, it's very, very bad for our country. It's making our country look foolish. And this is a country that I don't want looking foolish. And it's not gonna look foolish as long as I'm here."
Trump appears to say he's willing to meet with Mueller's team - CNNPolitics

Sounds clear to me

If Trump takes the 5th CNN will call him guilty.
If he talks, CNN will nitpick every syllable he utters, and call him guilty.

This plot isn't difficult to figure out.

Good to know you understand that the guy is probably....guilty.

Good for you! It isn’t difficult to figure out.

Why do you think that? Given the amount he has been sued, don't you think he may be comfortable on the stand?

He had the same comb over then. I guess I managed to put that out of my mind.

Anyway, I heard that he probably won't be called in front of the actual GJ out of deference to his position, but will probably be questioned in his office instead. Will he plead the Fifth? Doubt it. He's too arrogant.

He's only arrogant in public.

Hes probably scared ****less to face Mueller. They'll hear a lot of 'executive privledge', 'i dont recall' and possibly fifth amendment stuff.

But you and I know he will screw up. So do his defense lawyers. And most importantly, so does Mueller and his team.

Actually history shows he's quite capable in a deposition.

Capable is not the word I was thinking of in their deposition from 2016.
Capable would bring glasses.

I completely agree with your last 3 sentences.

Oh my God, who the hell cares? You post 12933838 about Trump a day. Give it a break
