As Wolff wrote in a Hollywood Reporter essay based on the book, over the past year, the people around Trump, “all — 100 percent — came to believe he was incapable of functioning in his job.”

According to Wolff, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Reince Priebus, the former chief of staff, called Trump an “idiot.” (So did the media mogul Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News, though he used an obscenity first.) Trump’s chief economic adviser, Gary Cohn, compares his boss’s intelligence to excrement. The national security adviser, H. R. McMaster, thinks he’s a “dope.” It has already been reported that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a “moron,” which he has pointedly refused to deny.

Everyone in Trumpworld Knows He’s an Idiot

Given Trump's limited vocabulary and phrases like "big water", is anyone surprised that everyone around Trump thinks he's an idiot?

Trump is the dumbest man to ever hold the office. How can anyone deny this? How many different people close to the president have to be quoted calling Trump an idiot before Trump supporters admit the president isn't very bright?

But I have to admit he's really good at coming up with catchy nicknames for people he hates. Sloppy Steve, Rocket Man, Little Marco...

She certainly knows how to get a point across. I knew all of that information but have never summed it up quite so succinctly to show just how stupid our leader is.

No 71 year old man behaves as Trump does, which is less mature than my high school sons act. And he is noticeably inarticulate.

But then again, he did talk about the big beautiful piece of cake he shared with one of the most powerful men in the world. And that's a sure sign of his genius.

Ugh, I can't for the life of me understand how anyone supported this man.

How did the "dumbest man in the world" beat all those other candidates including "the smartest woman in the worlds"?

Because he's a celebrity. Musicians and celebrities get elected in the third world all the time. Manny Pacquiao is a senator in the Philippines. Does that mean he was smarter than his opponents? At a certain level elections are popularity contests.

Nope the main dumb ones who voted trump were mostly republicans who believed trumps bigoted message and lies.

I'm hoping the allegations that Trump is in mental decline aren't true. I would just feel sorry for him if he's in age-related cognitive decline. But he's always been a bigot and jerk. I doni't want him getting off the hook due to senility.

I don't understand why there isn't some kind of mental health requirement for presidents. Every year the president should have to take a very basic test of mental acuity regarding memory, logic and basic cognitive skills.

Normally we would call such a test the VOTERS. But when so many of the VOTERS seems to embrace if not share some of the qualities of the patient, the results you get are not surprising.

But what if the president experiences a mental decline during his presidency? There should be a yearly physical that includes basic cognitive skills. They should have been put in place after Ronald Reagan who was clearly in total decline by his second term.

You bring up a very good point. And yesterday during the presser a reporter did as Sanders if the upcoming physical exam would include mental agility tests but she refused to go there or give a direct answer.

I suspect the 25th Amemdment is part of this but its difficult to trigger the 25th without the type of exam you suggest. It seems to put the nation in a bit of a catch 22 situation where we cannot show the president is crazy unless we can first prove the president is crazy but there is no exam to show the president is crazy in the first place.

Yep...let some jackass with an agenda write a book full of the spin, speculation, innuendo and lies from the Mainstream Media and all of the Trump haters just got all the support they've ever needed.

It's not just some jackass with an agenda, even his inner circle and fellow Republicans have said such things. At some point you have to admit to yourself "Maybe it IS Trump that is the problem". But alas, you keep putting your head in the sand.

Celebrities usually arent as valued by the right as the left. so not sure about that.

What's sad is that there were so so many in the US and I think that was the real underestimation. It's still hard to comprehend there are that many.
