Senate email says anyone "of Russian nationality or Russian descent" will now be targeted

Re: Senate email says anyone "of Russian nationality or Russian descent" will now be targeted

I don't believe that that is the case, Lurker. If you wanted the truth, you'd do what most people do, and verify the sources before believing them. If The Duran told you that the moon is made of green cheese, would you believe it? Or would you start looking around for other sources to see if it's true, and that the moon really is made of green cheese? If that's the case, then why would you not research something as serious as saying that Russians are being targeted? That's a pretty big (hyperbolic) claim. One that should be verified. But in my attempt at verification, I couldn't find a single reputable source for the story that isn't fake news or right wing propaganda. If you can find me a source (reputable, please) that backs up this story, I'd love to read it. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for it, though.

As I have already mentioned, if you find this article from a reputable website, I'll gladly read it. I'm not going to waste my time, however, reading anything from a website that is slanted that far right to the point of propaganda.

Why would it be a problem for me? I don't even know you, dude.

Again, you need to define at least "reputable" source. And hey, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. The whole "Russia-gate" fiasco is no different. If the Duran say that the moon is made out of green cheese, I would call bull****. But TYT, which is a "progressive" news channel on YouTube, has reported on this. In fact, it's the one that broke the story. Again, I would at least recommend reading the article.

I'm reading the link you gave me so far, and it's not really explaining itself. They claim to check all sources, but do they really trust what the mainstream media says? And what makes CNN left-wing? I've certainly never considered it to be left-wing.

And the Duran is not a far-right website.

Also, I'm glad that you don't have a problem with me being new to all of this. Thank you.

So... he has a contract with the CIA for cloud computing. And?

If he's connected with the CIA, that's pretty suspect.

Uses it? He thinks he invented it.

But it's a MSM term. Right.

Well, I mean, it is an MSM term.

Find me an article regarding Russians being targeted from any of the websites posted in the above two links, and I'll read it.

And hey, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Yet you have given none. All you've provided is a website that is considered fake news and propaganda by a non-partisan source.

But TYT, which is a "progressive" news channel on YouTube, has reported on this. In fact, it's the one that broke the story. Again, I would at least recommend reading the article.

I'd prefer to not get my news from the same place I go to watch funny cat videos and movie trailers.

With all due respect, you are new to this. Does it really matter what you consider to be left wing? These guys are the experts. Leave the fact checking to them. Just listen to them if they tell you something is fake.

And the Duran is not a far-right website.

According to the experts, they are.

Well hells bells.

I guess the people who sell staplers to the CIA are connected.

I guess the people who provide internet service to the CIA are connected.

What about the guys who fill up the vending machines at CIA HQ? Are they connected too?

You're not really giving me a definition of what a "reputable" source is.

And seriously? The New York Times? The publication that was at the forefront of getting us into the Iraq war? And again, I'm not looking for what's "most trusted." I'm looking for the truth. There is nothing showing that the mainstream media is more trustworthy than the Duran.

What makes it a non-partisan source? Just because it claims that it is, doesn't make it non-partisan. It doesn't even go into what made the Duran "propaganda" or "far-right." I would have wished that it did. I would have wished that it explained its judgment.

"I'd prefer to not get my news from the same place I go to watch funny cat videos and movie trailers. " I don't see what that has to do with anything.

With all do respect, if I am new to this, then the last thing I should do is just trust a website blindly. Especially if they consider themselves to be unbiased. And CNN is not left-wing. CNN has never put up an anti-war activist on their program, or rarely has done so.

And unlike you, I've actually read the Duran. It's not a far-right website.

Hey kids, remember when conservatives were just fine with trying to find the sneaky Russian? I do.

That's a false equivalency. What Jeff Bezos is doing goes far beyond selling staplers to the CIA.

Like you do The Duran?

Yeah, I'm finished here. Cut your political forum teeth on somebody else.

The Duran talks about news that the mainstream media doesn't, so that's why I go to it. Even if the Duran isn't a good website, what makes Media Bias/Fact Check any better?

You also haven't answered all my other points.

I hope that you and I can get along in the future.
