Who will Trump Begot?

Politicians aren't very creative, so absent any "obvious" options, the DNC'll go to the last strategy that worked.

I'd watch the state legislatures for any fresh faces that can talk a good game, and if they could be female or Hispanic, so much the better as far as they're concerned.

Hard to say or tell. Candidates must decide themselves nowadays whether to run or not. Who will rise up and challenge? Who knows? It's hard to tell what type of candidate America will be ready for. Carter won because folks wanted a more honest and truthful president than Nixon. Carter, a religious man, an honest one fit the bill.

Carter proved to be inept in many areas, honest, truthful, but inept. Along came the cowboy. America was tired of being the loser, Vietnam, Iran Hostages, high oil and gas prices, they went with someone opposite of Carter. Someone who many thought was a risk taker, but one who would challenge our enemies.

W. brought moral values to the White House to replace the immoral Bill Clinton. With the economy in recession, Obama offered hope and change. People tired of Obama policies, not so much the man, they tired of business as usual in Washington, taking care of the lobbyist, the corporations, wall street firms, the mega money donors to each party, Trump appealed as an outsider. Much like Jimmy Carter was an outsider along to a certain extent, so too was Bill Clinton.

We probably go back to an insider politician. Someone who has been in politics all their lives without having a real job. An establishment candidate who doesn't make waves. One who smiles, has a persona of a used car salesman instead of an ogre. Whom that will be is any one guess.

IMO, Biden would be a terrible choice. I'd rather see someone young and energetic with little to no baggage. Biden does not fit that criteria in the least.
 
It's hard to say who will be the Democratic nominee. Right now the party is in disarray between the centrists and the progressives. My guess is their ticket will end up with a person of color, female and a white male who sports a Che Guevara T-shirt under his suit.

Kanye can't even pull off a clothing line. He's got no chance in an election. Maybe B-Real is available. At least he'd make for an entertaining campaign.

HOnestly, I expect Trump's successor to be some massive left wing socialist if the Democratic Party allows the will of the people.

Perhaps. I'm already depressed by the inevitable misogyny that we'll be forced to listen to for all of 2020. Harris has already been called a bitch by one Republican moderator on this board. I don't expect it to get better from there.

Meh. He might just be hyping his latest movie with a publicity stunt. A number of celebrities have been doing that since the election.

Probably best not to take them seriously until they actually show up on polls and / or have submitted the campaign paperwork.

Not many politicians these days, fit either of those criteria. I think the youngest the Dems have is 49 and the Reps have a 38 in their hopefuls.
