Best or favorite President In your opinion

Clearly you forgot to read this.

Clearly you jest!

The proper balance of socialist and capitalist policies is what you see in every developed country in the world. It’s rabid communist and capitalist ideologues who are the biggest problem.

That I can agree with.

Gerald Ford was the most underrated president of the last 60 years. JFK the most overrated. Carter and LBJ the worst. Nixon the most dishonest. Clinton the most power hungry. Bush I, the best resume but the most disappointing. Reagan was decent, Bush II and Obama were equally mediocre.

You actually think that Nixon was more dishonest than Trump? That is hard to believe. Clinton actually was one of the best presidents if you concentrate on economics and forget about his personal life. Reagan was certainly mediocre, but Obama lead us out of the worst recession since the depression and it is still his economics that are creating the present great economy, since Trump has actually done nothing to change things in that area since coming into office. LBJ got s deeper into the Viet Nam war but he also passed the Civil Rights legislation and if you remember he was a deep south politico at the time, that was significant.

This sounds like a paid advertisement from the DNC.

Presidents that come to mind : George Washington and FDR. also, Teddy Roosevelt for being unbreakable, and Lincoln for holding up under the strain of one of the most difficult presidencies that this nation has ever seen.

fictional :

Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact
Kevin Kline in Dave. haven't seen the film recently to see if it holds up, but i remember it as being heartwarming.

I'm leaning Lincoln... for the turmoil he had to preside through was simply impressive. Divided country is not something only he has had to deal with, but the extent is.

Every President has good and bad... but only at the worst can you really judge a person's quality.

Washington is probably a close second. Can't imagine how difficult his presidency was being the beginning of it all.

Best: Lincoln

Worst: Obama

Both for the residual positives and negatives they left.

Jefferson and Lincoln for the best historical presidents.

Reagan for the best president in more recent times.

My top 5, no particular order...

-Lincoln...progressive in his day
-Teddy...Created National Parks, crushed big corp and their monopolies
-FDR....Created strong social programs... Created the Fair Employment Practice Committee (FEPC). It was the most important federal move in support of the rights of African-Americans between Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
-Eisenhower....Rare bi-partisan president...Set up strong social programs and like FDR improved infrastructure. US interstate system is the largest human works project of all time. Kick started civil rights movement with a supportive stance, which was a crucial precedent.
- George Washington

FDR was very effective in getting his agenda enacted. He also did more lasting damage to the constitution than any other president: Wilson was a distant second.

To me it was Thomas Jefferson.
Completely agree! (Hovewer, not a good thing that he held slaves)
Lincoln was also a good president ending slavery
Calvin Coolidge was a true follower of Thomas Jeffersons liberty ideals

Before FDR the U.S. was more or less insignificant compared the the world leaders internationally and crumbling domestically. The country became stronger under FDR and his agenda was for the well being American citizens.

From all accounts his "slaves" loved him, he treated them well. It was hard for any slave owner to drop ownership in that day. If I run a farm and have 100 people ro farmit for free and the next guy has to pay a fair wage, how does one compete? It has to be all or none. It was very much the norm back then, doesn't make it right, but you can see where our founders were sort of betw
een that rock and that hard place.

Top Tier
Washington
Lincoln
FDR

Runners-Up
Teddy Roosevelt
JFK
Obama
Jefferson

The rest is a mix of some good and some bad.
I can understand your picks with the exception of this dude obama.

GW Bush but now it's definitely President Donald Trump.
Like it or not he's the man so you liberal/Demos get with the program.

I was joking. In all seriousness, probably Obama, simply because he aligns with my political views more than other presidents.
...and you're still joking.
Nice comeback.

Washington, Lincoln, Teddy.

Tied. Different times, different neccesities. They met them.

Washington saw the direction of the times and said no, you will not jeopardize the union. Lincoln put death behind that mandate. T.R. said **** the coming gilded age; he wasn't perfect or perfect in result. They each injected something beyond their accomplishments.

FDR is close. Maybe he should be tied with the first three. He said **** political labels, we must do what must be done, full stop. Pragmatism. And it worked (as it must, done right).
