Obama 29, Trump 88. Obama beats Trump again.......:)

Trumps golfing THREE times more than Obama did, AND Trump Tweeted 20+ times complaining about Obama's golfing. AND he said if he was elected he wouldn't have time to golf, but there he is golfing 3 times more than Obama.

So unless you want to call Trump a liar, we'll have to at least call him a hypocrite. And all the people who complained about Obama's golfing but now excuse Trump's golfing are hypocrites too.

What's amusing is some of the excuses some of the GOP voters on this thread are making. "The media hates him because he beat Clinton!", "he already had this life style before being president, he's used to it!", anything to deflect from the fact that he's a lazy sack of crap and a hypocrite. As for the tax bill he signed, big deal. Any run of the mill Republican president would have signed that bill to appease their wealthy donors. Trump has had an amazingly unproductive first year, despite what the Breitbart crowd says.

I'm calling you a hypocrite.
That's fine call whoever called out obama but is defending trump one too. But you're currently calling out trump because he's golfing but I imagine you didn't have a problem with obama golfing.

Outside of that, complaining about every f'n tweet trump has made or probably will make, is a fruitless effort. Accept he has social retardation and move on.

If Trump didn't make an issue of Obama's golfing for years. And then lied about how much he would golf after he was elected, I wouldn't care how much Trump golfed.

But I don't like to be lied to and conned. But you, and other Trumpsters don't seem to care that he lied to us and make you lemmings look like fools. There's nothing I can do or say to help you look less foolish.

At least Trump can find something to brag about that's better than Obama at.

So be the opposite and complain about trumps golfing.

Hypocrites will complain about Obamacare golfing and support trumps golfing. Hypocrites will also be fine with obama golfing and complain about trumps.

It sounds as if your in the latter hypocrite group.

Oh you'll have to quote my post where I complained about Trump golfing. If you think about it, I was saying that we shouldn't be complaining about golfing and we should be complaining about the petty partisan bickering about which President spends his time golfing (Donald Trump repeatedly complained about Obama golfing too often, for instance). As to your other post about me posting CNN videos about a truck blocking "their" view, I don't know if that was a serious question but the answer is "no" and I have no idea what you're talking about or if it was a very unusual metaphor. If you choose to respond to me, will you tell me why your name is "BlackMatters." Because it comes off as very racist to me, but I won't jump to conclusions and don't mean to derail the thread.

Outside of that, complaining about every f'n tweet trump has made or probably will make, is a fruitless effort. Accept he has social retardation and move on.

Please do not use the word "retardation" when mocking somebody. I work with disabled people and previously held jobs working with people who had a diagnosis of mental retardation, so I would politely ask you to use a word that doesn't demean people born with a disability.

I'll readily admit that I criticized President Obama for his use of taxpayer dollars to enjoy a lifestyle he couldn't have enjoyed on his own dime - that included some of his golf outings. But I've also criticized President Trump for the obscene amount of money his normal lifestyle is costing the taxpayers, particularly as it relates to security and travel which by law accrues to the Office of the President.

The difference here, in my view, is that President Trump ran for the office and won but refuses to give up his former lifestyle in order to do the job he aspired to, whereas President Obama ran for the office and won because being President was the personal goal and he wanted the trappings of power and lifestyle he otherwise could never attain.

But, seriously, what working person, other than a politician or the independently wealthy, can afford the time, let alone the cost, of golfing 29 times a year, forget 88 times. It should be abundantly clear that either these guys don't take the work seriously or the work is basically part-time and a hobby rather than a vocation.

And just to be fair and not be accused of US bashing, my sorry excuse for a Prime Minister here in Canada has spent his entire time in 2 years in office circling the world, vacationing on billionaires' islands, photobombing weddings and other events, taking selfies everywhere, all on the Canadian taxpayers' dime and hasn't done a blooding thing related to the job of being Prime Minister since he was elected. He is the poster child for empty suits everywhere.

I'm confused where the idea comes from that Obama used taxpayer dollars in order to live a higher life style? You know he was a multi-millionaire when he was elected to office in 2008? Their 2007 income tax returns (released as tradition requires, unlike Trump) showed income of 4.7 million. And is your opinion that he wanted the "trappings of power and lifestyle he otherwise could never attain" supported by any evidence, or just a personal bias?

As for 29 times playing golf makes the job part-time, I'd remind you that there are 26 weekends a year. Obama played about once a week.
Trump plays 3 times a week.

When the Obama's moved into the White House they paid for redecorating out of their own personal funds. The taxpayers pony up $100,000 for each new president's use for their residence. The Obama's refused this money. I have yet to see where Trump has done the same, for his extensive redecorating.

Trump's lifestyle is rather expensive for the US taxpayer.

I agree with those who say Trump should golf more. Tax payers should send him on an extended golf holiday. Maybe a permanent golf retreat retirement home.

The "community organizer" made his "fortune" out of politics and those who helped pay his way into a certain lifestyle in Chicago along the way. He neither made/built nor contributed anything concrete to society to attain that "fortune".

As for living a lifestyle he otherwise could never attain, perhaps you can tell me how many times President Obama flew the Mrs. to New York City from Chicago or Washington for an anniversary dinner and a show before he became President or how many times he flew around the world hobnobbing with movers and shakers in various countries. There is zero doubt that President Obama sought the job as a way to improve his profile/status and to enjoy the trappings of power.

As for President Trump, I fully agree his lifestyle is very expensive for the US taxpayer - I've said so several times in other threads that relate to the costs of his many trips to Florida and New Jersey to stay at his clubs. As a taxpayer, I'd be all for some legislated ability to curtail the seemingly unlimited ability of the President to fleece the taxpayer. But there's also zero doubt that President Trump enjoyed all the trappings and power of that lifestyle long before he became President.

As for the paltry sum of $100,000 to decorate the White House, you are aware, I hope, that those same "selfless" Obama's fleeced the US taxpayer for well over $5 million to enjoy a couple of weeks vacation in Hawaii mere weeks before he left office last December/January.

Hey Code....did you notice that the stock market/401ks have been climbing for the last 8 years? This isn't something that suddenly started occurring when Trump took over.

Did you notice that unemployment has been dropping steadily for the last 8 years as well and hasn't really changed much at all since Trump took over?

Did you realize that 95% of the "tax cut" when to the top 5% of wealth earners....and did you notice that their tax cut doesn't disappear in a few years where yours will? Did you notice that much as the tiny tax cut that you got will be offset by the elimination of deductions for SALT, student loans, healthcare spending?

Did you realize that much of those regulations that were cut were there to protect individual people and the environment rather than corporations? We have already seen the effects of many of these cut regulations harming people.

Have you been paying attention to the investigation that you call a "witchhunt"...obviously not because it has already resulted in 3 indictments of top Trump officials who are now cooperating with Mueller...so your claim that it has yielded nothing is fake news.

Your baseless, unsupported and unsubstantiated embracing of the trump agenda is a fantasy. The reality is that Trump continues to overflow the swamp and continues to destroy America's integrity....but keep being that loyal Trumpette Snowflake......reality is probably too hard for you to swallow.

The rate of increase in the stack market vs the last decade is up by about 10X.

You cite the nature of regulations that were eliminated. What were they in particular? My guess is that you have no clue.

The tax cuts will benefit the folks affected by the Federal Tax System. In the case of this set of tax cuts, it will benefit 80% of the American population. that is a percentage rate higher than the number who actually pay Federal Tax.

I would like to see the retention rates of the law makers who vote to implement the highest tax INCREASE in the history of the Republic by not extending or making permanent these cuts.

Obama did it. I'm pretty sure the next crop of the Dems will do the same. It will be VERY good for the Reps if they don't.

The problem with your parroting of my charges against those that attack Trump is that I DID support my assertions.

You did NOT support yours. You are free to try to do so. I'm believe you'll fail. Again.

Obviously you have a great deal of contempt for Obama and the idea of "community organizers" Sarah Palin had similar opinions. He is a Harvard Law School Graduate, who decided to make a life of public service. Most of his fortune was earned through the sale of his books. Unlike Trump, he was articulate and able to express ideas that resonated with the reading public.
There is no published data on the frequency of Obama's travels to celebrate his anniversary before he became president. If you are relying on evidence other than your own biased opinion, please provide it. As for after taking office, I believe he flew to New York or Chicago for anniversary dinners much less frequently than Trump visits his Florida, New Jersey or Hawaiian properties. And that is comparing 8 years to 1 year.

If the sum of $100,000 is so paltry, why did Trump take it when the Obamas did not?

Five million does not come close to covering the cost of Trump's holiday getaway to Mar Lago. Is there some reason Trump is entitled to a holiday vacation, but Obama was not?

I was glad when Barry was golfing. He was not at work screwing up the country. I feel the same way about congress sometimes.

Trump on the other hand uses golf to meet with world leaders much as he used golf in business.

When Barry met with world leaders on the course they sometimes got in trouble with their country.

Foreign leader forced to defend golf with Obama

The media gets caught lying about.....you guessed it...Trump golfing regardless...of course...heh

Multiple Media Outlets Falsely Report Trump Played Golf Over the Weekend

"At least two media publications falsely reported over the weekend that President Donald Trump went golfing on Saturday."

"While Trump was at Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Va. to meet with members of his Cabinet on Saturday, he did not actually play golf. The Daily News, however, used the meeting venue to tee off on Trump."

These people cant help themselves...Kind of like the op.

I've decided we're better off with Trump on the golf course. He can't do a lot of damage to the country while on the golf course.

I understand that presidents should be working for the American people, that's what we elect them to do. And we do expect them to actually work. But Trump is never going to work for the people, he only works for his own benefit. When he does work, it's bad for us. So let the buffoon play golf 20% of the time and spend another 20% or so watching Fox News. Add that to another 25% of his time resting/sleeping, 10% of the time eating/pooping, and you only have about 20% of his time that he can actually work against the interest of the citizens.

Trump has taken 113 days during his first 342 days in office, projecting 968 days over 8 years. Obama vacationed 228 days during his 8 years as President. George W. Bush is the leader in vacation days, spending 32%, or 1,020 days, of his 8 years in office on vacation. Beginning with and including Reagan, all Democratic Presidents took fewer vacation days than the Republicans. Goes to show that Republicans don't need as many days to get the job done as Democrats. :)

Do you have a 401K?
Yes.

Have you noticed that there are more Americans working today than at any point in the history of the Republic?
There are more Americans living today than at any point in the history of the Republic. Absolute numbers are irrelevant. There are more Chinese working today than there were ten years ago too. (in fact, the Chinese have more workers than there are Americans in existence!)
Have you noticed that all of the stock indexes seem to be posting record closes at least weekly since the election?
This happened many times under Obama. You people had lots of reasons to declare why it wasn't really his doing.
Have you heard that you'll be getting a tax cut if you have a job?
Temporarily, a small one, followed by a tax increase. At the cost of substantial deficits. Why did corporations get permanent benefits while I didn't?

Have you heard that the regulatory strangle hold on the throats of the American people is being relaxed at the rate of 22 regs stopped for every reg started?
How many can you name without googling

Have you noticed that the Witch Hunt investigation into Trump has not shown even one instance of any collusion by any Trump associate despite millions of dollars and months of effort?
Bizzaro universe. No reason to respond.

Have you heard that more than 5 Trillion dollars of personal wealth has been created since the election?
Vague term. GDP hasn't increased by that figure.

Sorry, but I'm not the one who's selective in his/her outrage - I've said clearly that Trump's abuse of the taxpayers dollar is obscene and yet you give Obama a pass. Trump has donated his salary to charity and Obama took his, and yet you claimed he earned $millions otherwise in the year prior to taking office. Why didn't Obama forgo his salary, as Trump did?

It's clear you have contempt for President Trump - you're not alone, but that doesn't make your argument sound and without hypocrisy.

Obama's 8 year so called abuse of the taxpayer dollar was less than George W. Bush's 8 years, and significantly less than Donald Trump's ONE year abuse.
Obama's so called abuse was very much in line with previous presidents.

Trump who claims to be worth more than 4 BILLION has so far donated 3 quarters of his salary to charity. The last president of such significant net worth was John F. Kennedy, who donated his entire salary to charity. I don't find it at all unreasonable for presidents to accept their salary, or to donate it if they wish.

Not the issue, the issue was your original statement that Obama sought the presidency simply to become able to live a lavish lifestyle...a claim you have yet to support with one iota of evidence. So that would make YOUR argument quite unsound.

Yes.

Hmmm...

The denial is strong in this one.

Your unfounded, unsourced, baseless and half true series of implied meanings is noted.

Let's take a look at the one half truth that is verifiable: The record closes of the DOW.

After the election of the Big 0, the DOW closed at a record high 105 times over 8 tears until the election of Trump. AFTER the election of Trump when the specter of an Obama third term in the person of Hillary was removed, the DOW took off.

It closed at record highs 17 times AFTER the election in 2016. BEFORE the election in 2016, it closed at record highs only 9 times.

In Obama's economy, it required about 4.5 years to hit a record close. Under Trump, two days and it was the first since August of 2016.

In the time between the 2016 election and the end of 2017, the DOW closed at record highs 88 times.

For those of you playing at home, that's 88 record closes under Trump in 14 months compared to 105 record closes under Obama in 96 months.

That's about 1.1 record closes per month under Obama and about 6.3 record closes per month under Trump. The record closes under Trump started almost immediately and have continued to date.

I do love how you post nothing but vague terms and then complain about vague terms at the end of your post. However, the personal wealth that I quoted at a $5 Trillion dollar increase has been updated to a level of $6 Trillion since Trump was elected.

GDP is not the valuation of the Stock Markets. GDP is a historical measure of economic activity. The stock markets are a measure of the hope held by the people who drive the economy through investment.

Some of us playing at home are paying attention to this post. I'm not sure if it's your logic skills or mathematical skills that need a brush up.

Several months before Obama's term began there was a massive drop in the market, which continued through March 2009. So basically Obama came into office with the stock market at a very low point. If it took 4.5 years to recover, it in fact did recover, and continued to climb throughout his presidency.

Trump inherited a record high stock market, and it has continued to climb.

Comparing Obama's record highs to Trump's record highs is a faulty comparison.

Well, I suppose that no response if written down is still in some way a response.

For the record, I will note again that you support nothing and simply parrot more rubbish.

EVERYTHING I posted is either demonstrably true or based on historical precedent.

Again, I really hope the Dems follow your prescription for success.

Times Obama played golf during his first year = 29.
Times Trump has played golf (at his personal properties) during his first year = 88............

Trump uses the golf course to court congressmen, business people and world leaders. That's his thing and he's good at it. Trump has done more good on the golf course than the socialist Kenyan pig did in eight years in office.

Obama was dealt a hand with all kinds of upside potential and almost no downside available. We were already at the bottom shortly after he assumed the reigns.

The downturns in the DJI on the "Bush" graph seem to have corrected after the Bush Era Tax Cuts. The financial Melt Down following the Sub Prime lending fiasco washed all that away.

From Obama's starting point, The Stock Markets should have shot up like a rocket. Instead, they slowly rose and stumbled along to an increased level. The Bush Era high of 14,000+ was not achieved again until 2013.

Note that near the end of the Obama presidency, the steady upward moves are interrupted by some pretty dramatic downturns.

After the Trump election, the direction has been decidedly UP. The graph ends following the Trump Election at about 20,000. we just went over 25,000. The period following the Trump election is a historical anomaly. There's been only very rare duplications of isolated parts of what we are seeing right now.

I'm sorry. I don't know how i made that connection.

That said, though, Melania seems to be a very classy, very accomplished woman with pretty good taste, an abundance of ambition, intelligent enough to speak five languages and run a company and seems to be quite charming. Seems like the kind of woman who could keep the company of any man she chose.

She seems to be the devoted wife of a very successful billionaire and the loving mother of a well behaved child.

Trump seems to be a successful business person who has devoted children and employees and who is succeeding in accomplishing stuff in a new to him environment working against a powerful tide of lies and entrenched opposition.

When you refer to him as a sleaze bag, you seem to ignore much about him that is obviously true and accept much about him that is only rumored to be true.

Now, in case the Trump supporters need a little memory refresher, here ya go:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOXw8X48Q9Y

Now, we all realize that the presidency is a "pressure cooker" of a job to say the least. The problem with Trump is his blatant hypocrisy and how well he understands that his supporters seem to enjoy being lied to and made fools of. Who else would make so many campaign criticisms of Obama's golfing only the play almost THREE times as much. Trump relishes the fact that he is the most beloved president of the severely under-educated.

So it isn’t ok to bitch about the president playing golf...so I’m gonna bitch about the president playing golf.
