Merry Trumpmas, America!

Eostre was a German goddess. Even the date of Easter, the first Sunday after the first full moon after March 25, is a pagan observation.

So because somewhere in the world, someone made a pagan tradition in line with a Christian holiday, that now means any observation of a Christian holiday is pagan?

If not for the birth of Christ, why do you pick Christmas to celebrate? Why not April 14th or Nov 8th?

Don't be obtuse. Christmas became a mainstream part of western culture a looong time ago. Yeah, for devout Christians it's still a religious holy day but much of the celebration is more pagan than Christian. It's just an accepted part of all our culture.
Ever see a Christian family decorate for Hallowe'en? Ever see a Protestant celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Do you know who Eostre was, or why She's celebrated?
It's about culture, not religion.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Don't bother bringing dumb crap like that to me anymore.

The difference between us is that copy and paste isn't the extent of my knowledge on the subject. 99% of the time, anything I post has been fact checked. People in here know this. Ask anyone.

lol.

And much of what many of us have seen you post is humongous piles of crapinola.

You are completely ignorant of economics.

Corporations are always looking for profit growth. Their share price depends on growth. This means they are always looking to cut costs and maximize profits for shareholders.

If a corporation increases salaries it’s because of competition in the labor market. It’s never generosity.

A few corporations are giving one-time bonuses for publicity reasons because this tax cut is so unpopular.

My company slashed our bonuses after the recession. A few years later after record profits they never returned for me. Yet the investment bankers got record bonuses.

Also, my employer created offices in other countries with cheaper engineers and analysts to slash costs. When the market recovered this practice didn’t stop. I’m one of the few real employees left. Everyone is a consultant now. The Great Recession helped them find new ways to cut costs. After the recession they didn’t stop cutting costs just because they had more money.

And tax cuts are not free. If corporations have more money it didn’t fall out of the sky. Government has less money. Government has to layoff people you know. Government has to cancel contracts with private businesses. Or government has to borrow money and increase the deficit.

Trump hasn’t done anything other than giveaway money and put us deeper into debt. But Trump got much richer and so did the elites he claimed controlled Hillary.

You know you're arguing with a troll, right?

here is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Aye there's the rub, and just who is rational?

Would Dr Martin Luther King Jr. join up with Trump in wanting to build the wall?

“Before he died, King had been a big backer of Cesar Chavez, the late-Sixties farmworkers’ organizer and one of the earliest campaigners against open borders. Right after King’s death, Reverend Ralph Abernathy, his replacement as head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, marched with Chavez in a protest against illegal immigration over its suppressive effects on wages and its weakening of unions.”

Aye there's the rub, and just who is rational?

People who don't immediately leap only to emotionally comforting nonsense, but who can step back and evaluate the arguments with evidence and reason and make decisions on that basis.
