To a country ruled by and for the wealthiest of Americans. We will soon become a two class society, the 1%ers and the rest of us. They already control most of the wealth and with this so called tax reform by the GOP they will soon control all of the wealth of this nation. Through their wealth and donations to the parties that control our politics they already control our legislative and executive branches of our government. With the present GOP approving unqualified judges to the federal bench whose only job is to approve anything the GOP and thus the wealthy want they will soon also control the legislative branch. Our country will become a country that others will pity as they once did the USSR and China who in the near future will be considered more free than our country. And the really funny thing is that those who vote for this change won't see it coming until it is too late. When the country swings so far to the right, the outcome is almost a given. They say they want less government but in the end will have more government than ever, but a government totally controlled by the wealthy.

Conservatives only use the small government talking point when it suits them. In reality they like a big, authoritarian government that keeps the world in check, and punishes dissent.

Do you think that Hillary would of been that much different? All the donations and speaking fees these guys paid wasn't to get them paying more taxes. It's been going that way for a long time and under both parties. Everyone likes to talk about changing things, but too much money for anything to get done

Hillary would have been completely blocked by the GOP. Trump is a rubber stamp. The only reason things aren't much worse is both Trump and the GOP can't seem to get out their own way. This moronic tax bill is the only thing they've done beyond appointing lackeys to the courts and plutocrats to run government agencies that they seek to profit from.

Comical.

A 2% reduction to the top bracket while capping deductions is hardly the apocalyptic scenario you paint.

In other words, they are the same as Democrats.

Hillary would have more Republican support than Trump does Democrats.
You say Trump is a rubber stamp then claim him and GOP get in each others way. Not much of a rubber stamp.

You don't seem to understand the extent of this bill. Yes, it is a 2% decrease in their income taxes, but when you add to that the reduction in the corporate tax which will also end up in their pockets and the increase in the allowable deduction from the estate tax, they are getting a huge tax cut. All which will allow them to continue to buy up all of the wealth of this nation and the greater ability to buy up all of the politicos running this country.

Why even talk about Hillary, she has no power at all at this point. What ifs are useless and amount to nothing. You can't make what the GOP is doing better by trying to say someone else would have done as bad or worse, since what you are mentioning isn't going too happen. You are just trying to point the discussion in another direction because you know what I have written is what is happening.

Look, I'm anything but a fan of this tax bill as I believe the majority of the cuts should have gone to the middle class. That being said, we're not talking about a huge shift in wealth in this tax bill. A modest sum at most. Even the death tax is capped so the wealthiest Americans will still have to pay.

lol, seriously.... I really don't understand it. The world is ending and all our principles are violated, because the total tax bracket(Of a progressive tax system, meaning the richest pay the most percentage by far) gets a 2% reduction lol...

I think people like the OP just hate rich people.

I'n not even a rich person... I was on subsidized Obamacare just a year and a half ago. I can't wait for the corporate tax decrease... My 3k stock portfolio xD ought be doing great this coming year, it's exciting.

No, what I said, in more explicit terms, is that Trump gets in his own way and the GOP congress gets in their own way. Trump has also gotten in the way of the GOP.

Hillary would have gotten exactly as much support from the GOP as Obama did - none.

Corporate tax reductions doesn't just help rich people...period. There's a reason European countries do not have as high of a corporate tax rate we do.

It will be very good for the market. Interest rates will edge up more.

Enjoy the borrowed 1.5 trillion, because the complaints about the debt/deficit follow quickly. I've been living through these cycles since Reagan. Learn to time when to take your chips off the table...

Yea, When a progressive democrat wins the next election... I will short the market and maybe end up being a rich person lol....

ROTFL...I know. It sounded like a very good description of leftists. Antifa beat downs, forcing Obamacare down America's throat, I mean talk about authoritarian. lol

It is for the deficit and debt.. and for the 99% who get to pay for it all. In the meanwhile the 1% sit in their golden chairs on high mountains behind paid security and laugh at the rest of us.

You mean there's gambling going on upstairs?
I'm shocked I tell you

Oh, the deficit increase is a plus. They get to blame that on the next Dem who gets elected, you see.

Be careful with that. The last time to do that happened when repubs were in charge of everything - late 2006.

It's an excuse to cut social programs, as already announced by Rubio. Yeah, seen this movie a few times.

crash in 2008 was because of a housing bubble, had very little at all to do with democrats or republicans, There very well could be a stock bubble brewing that will pop the second we have Democrat leaders wanting to triple corporate and income taxes taxes.

I am pretty positive the economy boon is because of pro-buisness hype from Trump and his tax plan.... and the second a risk of higher taxes, they will drop... I'll bank on it, i'm not a full out gambler though lol... not betting the full life savings, but I will certainly be capitalizing.

Democrats are changing there politics voluntarily into a anti-buisness platform....

I'm quite aware that the promise of injecting 1.5 trillion into the economy will push the markets up, and I've been mostly in since last Dec. when things sort of stabilized post election. It IS a bubble. I don't think it's as weakly supported as the housing bubble was, but it's a bubble nonetheless. "Everything Bubble" is a term I saw awhile back.

I don't want to rehash a housing bubble debate, but I don't agree that the dems/repubs policies had nothing to do with it. More on Greenspan, but a lot of the government was looking the other way then. Bush was happy to talk about his "ownership society" rather than the Iraq fiasco.

Many advertise it as a means to rely less on "social programs" which appears to be the politically correct (preferred?) method of saying income redistribution programs for those not earning enough to support themselves and their dependents.

Whether it will live up to that expectation is rightfully in doubt but that is why we have elections - to select representatives to enact changes to try to improve things.

That's one thing, in my opinion. Using it as an excuse to try to rob programs I've been paying into all of my life is another. Of course, our reps are either rich or have their own "special" programs that will be exempt from cuts. If I was a billionaire, I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't be as up in arms about the idea.
