Anderson Cooper's mean tweet at Trump

Someone's confused.

Does this mean that you don't consider ANY media outlet to "mainstream"?

I can see your confusion. It goes with the definition of mainstream. I refer to mainstream as the old stand byes ABC, NBC, CBS, AP, Reuters, PBS, and probably a few others. I would probably add CNN into that mix, even though CNN is much more partisan to the left more than the others. They pretty much refuse to report any positives on Trump or the Republicans. The other ones I mentioned, at least try to be objective and unbiased, especially AP, Reuters, and PBS. But, most of them put on 18 minutes of anti-Trump, 5 minutes of weather, 5 minutes of other news, and 2 minutes of something that shows something good about Trump or the Republicans, but usually without giving them any credit for it. For national News I usually watch ABC. One night they did their usual anti-Trump stuff through most of the broadcast and then had about five minutes of how good the war on ISIS was going, without giving Trump even one little pat on the back about it, like Trump was in no way responsible for it. Even though FOX is considered "mainstream" by many, I won't include highly partisan media in my definition of them, such as Fox, MSNBC, or the NYT, to name a few. To me, mainstream means big organization that has been around many years and that at least try to be objective and unbiased, even though most of them get a failing grade at it.

How can you state that they "try" to be objective and then say that they aren't? Did you sit in on some meetings where they laid out their objectivity protocol?

Guess I should elaborate on that a little. They "try" to convince viewers that they are impartial, professional, and unbiased. It doesn't work, unless of course you are biased to the left. Then you think they are impartial and unbiased and professional. I'm just saying that if you are a partisanly biased media then you should identify yourself as that in the first place. I don't see any "reporters" from the National Enquirer at White House Briefings so other unprofessionals shouldn't be there either. If you are claiming to be an objective journalist (or media) then you should act like an objective journalist (or media). Most don't.
