Remember your mom telling you that if you can't say anything good about someone then you shouldn't say anything? I challenge the right to list things they did actually like about Obama, even if it is just one. This thread is not for negativity in any way, either overtly or non-overtly . Everyone has their good points and their bad points in various quantities. If you can't say even one good thing about Obama then it just shows how truly partisan you are. This is your chance to prove that you are not a hack partisan member of the resistance. Now remember, nothing in any way can be negative, such as, "I like the fact that Obama helped Republicans back to power in 2016". That's a negative. This thread is a positive thread where I challenge the right to list what they liked about Obama.

(I totally stole this idea)

While Obama was illegally arming and training terrorists in Syria against the Geneva Accords, he had the decency not to make it a full blown ground war; unlike his predecessor Dubya.

He embodied the American dream. He had a poor upbringing, dealt with the tensions associated by being mixed/minority, garnered an ivy league education, and rose to the level of the most powerful Chief Executive in the World. He embodies the American ethos of work hard, make something of yourself, and enjoy the fruits of your labor and success.

I took the question as asking about policy more than him being a good speaker or family man type of stuff.

I know I agreed him occasionally on stuff but I'm drawing a blank on most of them right now

The one big thing I did agree with on was giving the gitmo prisoners a trial. I'm against locking up people indefinitely. The gov has an obligation to charge you and make its case in court. Imo holding them without being charged for an indefinite period of time is intollerable. For everything Obama got wrong he did get that right.

He was likeable. He acted like an adult most of the time. He liked sports. He came from humble beginnings and was a self-made man. He seemed to enjoy his children and kept them very much out of the limelight, enjoying as normal a life as could be expected.

I didn't like his politics at all, but I liked the man.
