Why do We Continue Electing These Guys?

1.Those voters wouldn't be voting for the incumbents.

2.Anyone who voted for Trump because they think he is anti-establishment is a ****ing retard who needs to ask how many times their parents dropped them on their heads when they were babies. Because that is about the only way they can honestly believe that Trump is anti-establishment.That or they have been living under a rock for the past two or three decades. Someone who is anti-establishment doesn't donate to establishment politicians ,doesn't hang out with establishment politicians, and they don't praise the job the establishment is doing.Trump is the opposite of anti-establishment. Although I am sure some Trump-tard **** for brains retard will try to tell me that donating to politicians whose views they find harmful is what a smart business man does.

If he does half of the things he campaigned on I will vote for him in 2020. Heck if he successfully gets funding to sanctuary cities blocked, gets out of the various trade deals that shipped American jobs over seas, Builds an effective wall on the border(not the bull**** Bush had made),makes E-verify the law of the land then I will vote for Trump in 2020.

.

Trump's past history does show he was not always anti-establishment, however when he did run for the White House, he ran as a populist. He made campaign promises on issues that the conservative base and for that matter many moderates identified with as part of the GOP platform. Unlike the establishment politicians in the GOP, he has done much more then just giving lip service to those promises. The tax cuts for instance are bolder then any tax cuts since Reagan. And the included repeal of the individual ACA mandate will certainly start the unraveling of Obamacare. add to the 70% reduction of illegals crossing our southern borders, Trump ias already well on the way to honoring at least half of his campaign promises.I believe the border wall will be built. as for sanctuary cities, I think stopping the funding will take longer with all of the judge shopping the democrats are doing, however I think the results of the 2018 elections may speed it up.

I'm not a believer in using age against someone when I vote. If their performance is degrading I think that is a valid reason. A lot of it may boil down to people being so familiar with them.

Fair. And well reasoned. A 70 or 80 year-old silver fox can be wise and even cunning. Or that can have great administrative skills or diplomatic skills.

But another issue is when you have been in political office for nearly all your professional life and you are now 70 or 80 years of age. For those that are fine with that, don't come with a serpents tongue, slithering in a tree, in all hypocrisy trying to tempt me into believe your story of Fidel Castro and Mugabe or whoever your pick of the day is are evil for remaining in political power for so long.

And no, I don't believe the serpents lie that US Congressmen that stay in power for like forever are less politically powerful than freshmen Presidents that come and go.

If the libruls were smart, they would be pushing Nancy Pelosi into retirement. She is showing too many blank stares and brain freezes. Sometimes she does not even know who is president.

I'm not entirely sure the president knows who the president is all the time.

Mindless partisan voters vote for whichever piece of **** candidate has the right letter next to their name...and then they say stupid things like "the OTHER guys just have to appease the Koch brothers".

I strongly suspect trump will be reduced to drooling in his oatmeal by 2020.

He's not the man he used to be.

Speaking for California, how about we keep our money and the feds can keep theirs.

We got it like that.

Congressmen Chuck Grassley, Orin Hatch, John Conyers, Feinstein, and countless others are all in their 80's, making this the oldest Congress in history. Your average rep is 20 years older than the average age of their constituents. Half these coots are probably senile. And, none of these old dogs are young enough to try new tricks.

Why do we keep electing them?

Because we are lazy.

Want better candidates? We need a concerted effort to vote for and ONLY for third party candidates. We need to put enough of them in power to change (1) gerrymandering, (2) ballot requirements.

We're not going to do that.

Hell, it's easier to complain about what government is doing for us while attacking each other than it is to, well, change things. That means doing work after coming home from work, for quite a long time, and eating consequences.

**** that. Reality TV is on!

Oh its the that was yesterday he said that excuse or some form of it. I am right you people would vote for Obama if he ran a republican and you thought he could win.

Most of that won't matter if congress doesn't enact laws to prevent the next president from enacting his own DACA, and put bills on Trump's desk to sign so those things can happen.

Why do we keep electing them?

Because they write the rules, and the system is rigged. Voting does not bring the changes that most people think it does, and that has been demonstrated many times over. And of course there is the element that many voters would rather have jobs in the defense industry than constitutional governance.

I would not vote for Obama under any circumstances. and there were several on the 2016 GOP primary I would not have voted for under any circumstances. I was not going to vote for Trump last November, until I watched the second debate against crooked Hillary.

I somewhat agree with that.
