Conyers is busted, too

Oh, my God. And settled for $27,000. Unbelievable. Let’s see if mainstream picks it up.

Surely the Libbos are going to demand he resign.

After serving in the Korean War, Conyers became active in the civil rights movement. He also served as an aide to Congressman John Dingell before winning election to the House in 1964. He co-founded the Congressional Black Caucus in 1969 and established a reputation as one of the most liberal members of Congress. Conyers joined the liberal Congressional Progressive Caucus after it was founded in 1991. Conyers supports the creation of a single-payer healthcare system and sponsored the United States National Health Care Act to achieve that goal. He also sponsored a bill to establish Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a federal holiday. Conyers ran for Mayor of Detroit in 1989 and 1993 but was defeated in the Democratic primary in both elections.

In total, he has won re-election twenty-five times and is serving in his twenty-sixth term. He is the longest-serving current member of the House, the longest-serving current member of the entire Congress, the fourth longest-serving member of the House in history, and the seventh longest-serving member of Congress in history. He is the second-longest serving member of either house of Congress in Michigan's history, trailing only his former boss, Dingell. He is also the last member of the large Democratic freshman class of 1964 who is still serving in the House.

He's 88 years of age?

Was re-elected 25 times? I hope this dude hasn't been on the anti-Putin bandwagon with that old song and dance, "In a democracy no one stays in political power past 8 years." This dude has been in political power since 1964 apparently. It is the year 2017. What the hell is this Zimbabwe. Retire. The homo-feminist Democratic Party apparently has more power to come politically lynch your "I'm black" a__ than you have in the homo-feminist Democratic party to lynch the prevailing white power structure which financially decimated the black families of Detroit.

Retire. I don't want to hear about how you marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

That Civil Rights marching and evoking the name of "Dr. King" has probably become like some of these black store-front Protestant churches pimping Christianity and evoking the name "Jesus."

Those libbos thoughtfully constructed all those FEMA camps. I say we put them to use!

It doesn't matter what else he has done in his life or how long ago these kinds of things happened.

The only important thing here is if a woman one time felt uncomfortable with this man, so today he should be fired and lose everything.

Buzzfeed is not the most reliable of source (to put it mildly).

No. Many women, repeatedly, over many years (if the story is true). And touching up women and firing women for refusing sexual advances is a bit more than making them feel uncomfortable.

Basically I implied he should have retired long ago. Hell, sexually harassing women or girls was not needed, no more than robbing a bank or shooting heroin in his arm would be needed.

The exception, for me, would have been if he was effecting change radically for the better for Black-Americans in Detroit. Then it would be logical for him to stay in office for 100 years if possible, assuming he was not sexually harassing women and extorting sex out of female staff.

The only important thing here is if a woman one time felt uncomfortable with this man, so today he should be fired and lose everything.

Frankly--and I suspect you used this diction and tone because you are emotionally invested and think [incorrectly] that I am too--I'm about as indifferent to this feminist crusade as I am to Black Lives Matter.

But I think in terms of who has power. Like I'm pretty pro-Latino and the day the Latinos gain most the power in the Democratic Party you will hear me calling the Democratic Party a Latino Party.

Currently, the Democratic and Republican Parties are homo-feminists, with the Republicans being only to a certain degree, and the Democratic Party being essentially (in power) a homo-feminist reign. Latinos are enjoying an increasing power in the Democratic Party and Black-Americans have a waning power in that Party. That's just the fact of the matter. The homo-feminist can effect more change throughout the whole of the country, across political lines, in 6 months than what Black-America's "Black Lives Matter" could pull off in 20 years. So, that tells you who has power and who has much less of it.

Being cognizant of sociology noting it supposedly is a field of inquiry that says how the world is (rather than should be) and theology sociologist say is in contrast a field of inquiry as to how the world should be.

So, I live in the "is" world and the not the "should be" world.

In the "should be" world America would be one tribe like author Sebastian Junger (with a social anthropology degree) suggests would be for the best in his book Tribe: https://www.npr.org/2016/05/21/478962909/sebastian-junger-s-examines-veteran-life-after-leaving-tribe

In that one tribe America it would not be tolerated for powerful men to sexually harass female workers or extort sex out of them. Black-American labor would not be being replaced by Latino labor by design, Black-American households would not be dismissed off and regulated to second class citizen status economically, Muslims would not be targeted for hate, Christians wouldn't be bashed, and the list could go on...

But in the reality, in how America is, there are numerous tribes that battle for dominate position and in some form are in war and competition with each other. Just like Democrats are at war and competition with Republicans.

So, contrary to what Democrats say we all aren't going to hold hands with each other skipping across a field of daisies and we all end up winning 1st Place trophies.

Remember that New Yorker guy caught on video I think, being placed in a strangulation hold (colloquially it is called a "choke hold" but more technically it is a strangulation hold), for selling single cigarettes I think ? I only chuckle because it is so ridiculous. But anyways the cops ended up killing that guy right? Black-America political power is so impotent (relative to say LGBTQ, feminist, Jews, and increasingly Latinos) that even homicide caught on video leaves the competing tribes like, "Well... let the long internal investigation process determine what happened because we can't be sure."

Now, I want to contrast that with mere accusations by living people, with no video footage, about what happened some years ago between some man in power like this Conyers and one or more women. The homo-feminist tribe are so powerful they'll have cats out of work in 7 days with no investigation. That's power. And if the man or men don't get taken out of power be sure justice will come to them faster than a black man murdered by multiple cops on film or in photos.

Black Lives Matter protested over a lot of shady people that were complicit in getting shot by cops (some were not shady and innocent). I suspect some portion of women accusing men are not being 100% honest too. Although, unlike Black Lives Matter I think most the women are being honest.

well, his wife was in prison for three years for embezzling public funds
he had to get it from somewhere (at 85 years of age)
why did the ethics committee do nothing when it was found his staff was used to transport his intimate friends to and fro
this bastard was re-elected by his black tribe just as was moore and his own white tribe
the tribes are alike only in their ignorance

Buh-bye.

The way I feel about this if it is recent (Conyers appears to be recent) Buh bye.

If it was more than a few years ago (maybe 5?) I am willing to cut slack, as long as recent behavior is good.

Before anyone asks....yeah I do put Moore in a different category. I mean, a 30 something in a position of power going after teenagers? Ewww,

Do you think John Conyers should resign?

If Trump resigns first.

If a lowly Congressman should resign over sexual impropriety, then certainly the one who holds the highest office in the land should resign if he is guilty of the same behavior.

Should Clinton have resigned?

Should Clinton have resigned?

If women came forward, and the claims were verified, yes of course he should have resigned. But that's not the case, and that is different from the claims going on with Conyers, Moore, Spacey and the rest. These claims are all verified by other people - not a handful of girls who sought out relationships with Clinton and then changed their stories under oath.

Oh, the hypocrisy! :lamo

How so? I said if there were others to verify the claims that Clinton assaulted them, he should go too. But there is no one verifying the claims.

There are many backing up claims of the others.

You seem to automatically assume that everyone on the left loves Clinton. I do not. But if Moore had 2 or 3 girls saying this, and no one backing it up, and they kept getting caught lying about it, I'd not believe them. Once somebody gets caught in a lie, I, like most, have the tendency to not trust them.

"Lowly"? Hell, when you reign in power as long as he has you have more political power than any US President be it George W. Bush, Obama, or Trump. That's kind of like dismissing that aristocracy of law appointed for life called the Justices of the United States Supreme Court.
