And the dam breaks, a tidal wave of sexual misconduct by public figures...

Fair question.

Just your luck! My profane and devil may care arse once served as a public school board member.

Did I enjoy it? As much as I enjoy root canals. But, you know what? I gutted it out. When it was all done and dusted I got back much more than I gave, and I worked my ass off in that godforsaken position. I was humbled by the experience. Hard to imagine, yeah.

You asked, "How the hell--or why the hell--are so many female teachers arrested for having sex with their underage students?"

Where? Since when?

What are the percentages? Honestly, I don't have them. You do, so please share and cite your sources.

Are you possibly referring to media reportage? Is there an increase in media reportage? Since when? I'd have to say that that is possible but I honestly haven't seen any facts or figures. Have you?

My question made no claim to any percentages of sexual misconduct. I asked why so many are arrested for having sex with underage students.

As in the media has reported on many female teachers kind of like they are reporting on many men now, in Hollywood or Congress or whatever.

I made the point that women are disproportionately represented in primary and secondary education (as teachers). It was in response to an earlier comment you made that if there were equality (presumably equal numbers) of women in all spheres of occupations/positions then sexual abuse would have resolved itself already. And I was pointing out that even though women make up most primary and secondary teachers in the USA it has not stopped teachers from "sexually abusing" their students.

I said:

Women also make up the majority student body on many college campuses today of America. Does it follow then that sexual harassment and sexual abuse (carried out by men no less) are resolved in higher academia?

And you replied:

No, I don't know that it does follow, for a number of reasons. Once again, if you'd give me the facts we'll go from there. You've got the power, lead on.

Your reply could have just ended with the portion I highlighted in green.

There was no need for me to provide "facts" as I was asking the question if a resolution to sexual harassment and sexual abuse has result on college campuses given on many college campuses women make up the majority of the student body?

My question made no claim to any percentages of sexual misconduct. I asked why so many are arrested for having sex with underage students.

How many is so many? Whatever number so many is and over what period of time compared to how many before in what period of time. How many men compared to how many women? Where?

I'm willing to bet you that many of these pedos use mint tooth paste. That must be the cause then, right? Proof? Who feckin needs it?

As in the media has reported on many female teachers kind of like they are reporting on many men now, in Hollywood or Congress or whatever.

How do you know it is not simply being reported more than it was whenever you first noticed it? How do you know your sources of information have not changed?

You could be correct but so far you haven't convinced me.

Could be that men these days are wimpy things and female teachers aren't attracted to wimpy men their own age. Hell, I don't know.

What I do know is that what you see may or may not be distorted by any number of factors and that you've come to a conclusion with no discernible proof.

I made the point that women are disproportionately represented in primary and secondary education (as teachers).

Compared to when? How do you know? When did the balance change and by how much?

It was in response to an earlier comment you made that if there were equality (presumably equal numbers) of women in all spheres of occupations/positions then sexual abuse would have resolved itself already.

Yes, I believe that in general terms regarding sexual harassment and sexual abuse of women would be measurably lessened, I believe I said mitigated, if there was gender equality in the workplace. That includes at managerial, supervisory, administrative and executive levels. I did NOT say and I hope that I did not imply that sexual abuse of children would also measurably decrease. It could I suppose, but I don't know that it would.

So I was not talking about schools nor was I talking about female teachers having sex with male students. That is a different can of worms.

And I was pointing out that even though women make up most primary and secondary teachers in the USA it has not stopped teachers from "sexually abusing" their students.

I am not denying there is a problem. I would not be surprised that more female teachers are being reported for have sex with male students but I don't know that more are. It that is the case I suspect there are different factors involved compared when compared to adult males sexually harassing adult females.

Naaaa. I think you're putting **** out there that isn't common experience.

Who doesn't like to be told that they look nice? Well, OK, X-Factor, but everyone else appreciates a compliment.

No, that is not the reality. That is the fairy tale world. Some women appreciate a compliment. Other women if they hate you for whatever reason (you keep your work area orderly or something--human being can build dislikes and hatreds off the weirdest things) will accuse you of sexual harassment. Hell, some if they like you and are jealous you complimented another female worker might complain in private to her boss that you sexually harassed the other woman (the other woman does not have to complain or even be offended).

This is real life. And women can be even more "catty" with each other in the workforce.

Women are not naive. Truth be told, for the most part women are probably much smarter than men.

No, they are not naive (men can be), they are conniving. At least some. But you can't always just assume you are dealing with a fair and "reasonable" woman. Best to take time observing if that is the case.

Yes, women can be smarter than men. Individuals can be smarter than other individuals on a given subject or craft. One woman might be better at math than one guy. In another case a guy might be better at math than his female coworker.

Maybe it was that I just always attracted to bright women. There are bazillions of bright women in the world. I have always found intelligence to be sexy.

That is neither here nor there. For some reason I doubt most men are sexually attracted to mentally challenged women. And being highly intelligent does not negate the ability to be highly evil.

As a long lesson--whether one believes the story fiction or not (fiction can provide moral lessons too)--Lucifer was supposedly the brightest (smartest) and most attractive of all the angels of God. And believed to have been the highest ranking angel. Yet Lucifer Jesus said, "was a liar from the beginning." Endowed with free will as Lucifer was.

Just because a man is wearing a suit, groomed nicely, and smelling great. Just because that man smiles at you does not mean he can't strangle you from behind when you are not looking and your guard is down.

Likewise, if you want to get at your male enemy you can send a beautiful woman to who, one that laughs at his jokes and flirts with her eyes at him. She can poison him. Or do something else to damage his career and reputation.

You can be of very humble looks and also slightly below average IQ and be a very decent and kind person.

And the dam breaks...

We'll call it "The Weinstein Effect".

Segal is pretty small taters compared to this guy:

Filmmaker James Toback has long had a bad reputation with women.

Stories about the writer-director often referred to him as a womanizer, but what that actually meant did not become clear until the Los Angeles Times published an investigation Sunday in which 38 women accused the writer-director of sexual harassment.

Within two days those numbers swelled as more than 200 additional women contacted The Times and, in emails and phone calls, recalled encounters with Toback similar to those detailed in the story. The majority of the new accounts, which have not been verified, told of Toback approaching women on the streets of Manhattan, offering them the chance at a part in an upcoming movie, and a wide range of unwanted sexual advances and behavior.

The Los Angeles Police Department has fielded numerous phone calls related to Toback in the last few days, said LAPD Det. Danetta Menifee.

She said the department’s special assault section of its Robbery-Homicide Division is currently sorting through the calls to determine the nature of the complaints and where the encounters occurred and if the LAPD is going to conduct an investigation.Several of the women included in The Times’ investigation confirmed they had contacted the district attorney’s office in the past week to file complaints.

(Read the 1989 Spy magazine story that detailed James Toback's attempts to pick up women)

The Times’ story detailed a pattern of behavior, carried out over four decades, in which Toback approached women in New York and Los Angeles, boasting of his movie credits and relationships with stars such as Robert Downey Jr. Then, under the pretext of meetings framed as interviews or auditions, he asked explicit questions about the women’s sexual histories, often proposing that they remove their clothes.

The encounters often ended, according to many of the women interviewed, with Toback dry-humping them or masturbating in front of them, ejaculating into his pants or onto their bodies.

Toback, 72, denied the allegations to The Times, saying he had never met the women or, if he did, it “was for five minutes and have no recollection.”

Weinstein's Impact: List of men accused of sexual misconduct - ABC News

Gee, Roman Polanski is starting to look tame compared to this group.

Amazing!

24 accused and no trials. Is this a great country or what?

What a sicko...

I hope you are not in thespian role. You know the art of acting to be so outraged and shocked. Would you as a grown person let this guy jerk off in front of you and then ejaculate all over you for a part in a movie?

All these things you hear are but a drop in the bucket of human sexuality, played out daily in just a dot on the map of the earth in some pin point called inner-city Milwaukee, USA.

I remember reading from two philosophers who co-wrote a book on how to read various genres of literature that one has to consider this about autobiographies and biographies: one, a family might hire and ($$) finance a writer to write a biography on a loved one, and indicate to that writer what kind of image they want presented or image left out. Two, a person writing their own biography may (potentially that is) want a certain image of themselves presented that is not entirely accurate or whole.

So, consider that when you listen to this guy below about his book he wrote and the one Jim Brown wrote. All anti-Christ people would have sang the song together about how enlightened and good this man was after hearing him preach his secular beliefs on do now with adventure, sexually, for this life is the only one one has. That is, prior to them hearing or reading these allegations.

Me? I had to travel through darkness seeking God, being drawn by God in the night, hearing noises in the dark forest that sent fear into me, the sound of the rattlesnake, quick flashes of the large cat's eyes, the growling of unseen beasts, faintly in the distance the sorrow of some woman, the terrifying screams of another, and shadows of nude bodies.

So, when I see this guy I see a human, an American, and that is it.

Priest sex abuse and Hollywood sexual harassment scandals: Cultures of cover-up, cruelty and corruption

Eight years ago, producer Harvey Weinstein and a horde of Hollywood moguls and celebrities banded together in defense of child molester Roman Polanski.

The Polish director, who fled the U.S. in 1977 before being sentenced for forcing himself on a 13-year-old girl, had just been arrested while attending a film festival in Switzerland. The Weinstein gang was outraged at the disruption of the festival... "I think men in power in most big businesses — Hollywood, Wall Street, politics, etc. — see themselves in a world where rules don't apply," said one producer I know.

I am an evangelical. I agree with Roy Moore's positions on the posting of the 10 Commandments and gay marriage. If I believed the so-called victims, and I lived in Alabama, I would NOT vote for Roy Moore. I do not believe these women. If true, why didn't they pursue justice even just a few months ago when there would be less reason to doubt them?

If these women had come forward a few months ago I believe you would still zealously defend Moore. You would cover for him regardless. Even when one of your brethren admit the possibility to at least some of the actions in question, Judge Moore is excused with ludicrous reasoning.

BTW, the U.S. supreme court doesn't agree with overt religious displays in the courtroom or your views on gay marriage. The supreme court is part of our system of checks and balances. But when it comes to you and Judge Moore, flout the court and claim God's superiority. If that's the case Moore, and you too, should stay out of governing because I don't see how ignoring one side of the system while serving on a different side can be rectified.

And through all of this your bunch, meaning evangelicals and generally far-right fundamentalists, claim the mantel of righteousness. You make me sick.

Donald Trumps comments regarding star seeking women LETTING you grab them by the *****...a crass but consensual act

No, the tape proves that Trump THINKS women will let him grab their ******s. Only an idiot or predator thinks that's true.

Everyone understands what Trump said. He said that if you're a celebrity you can grab women's privates without asking for consent because they want you to. And there were women who said he did exactly what he said he did. Again, he said that's what he did and women say that's what he did. Case closed.

Anderson claimed that while she was out at a New York club with friends in the early 1990s, someone slid his hand under her miniskirt and touched her vagina through her underwear. She turned around a recognized him as Donald Trump.

“It wasn’t a sexual come-on. I don’t know why he did it. It was like just to prove that he could do it and nothing would happen,” Anderson said. “There was zero conversation. We didn’t even really look at each other. It was very random, very nonchalant on his part.”

How cute. A rat supporter that suddenly pretends to care about allegations of sexual misconduct. What a novelty.
