America, I apologize for the South's hypocrisy

No, I didn't. It's more likely that you're wanting to make that claim in order to try to support those who are like-minded to yourself.

But in any case, "Deep South" is not a cardinal point on the compass, but a REGION. Are you really going to try to argue otherwise?

Of course it is. When I lived in the deep South... the southern part of Georgia, we called Florida the most southern yankee state.

Lmao! Dude. I've lived here my entire life. You can claim Florida ain't southern...but all you did was live in the cities. Name a city in the south...a big one...that is still "southern." You don't know Florida and you couldn't walk Tate's hell. You don't know what the word southern means.

Savannah, GA, Charleston, SC Columbia, SC. Jackson Mississippi, Mobile AL, Birmingham AL, Montgomery AL, Baton Rouge LA, Shreveport LA, August GA, Columbus GA, Macon GA, Pretty much all surburbia big cities just outside of Atlanta, Nashville TN...

He could be proven beyond any doubt to be innocent, not merely not guilty - innocent.

And it's still seriously ****ed up to compare child molestation with Joseph and the virgin Mary.

I believe this use of God's name is the most offensive part of this whole, disgustingly ugly affair.

To call on the name of whom you proclaim to be "savior" to defend the actions of this creep is just filthy, slithering. And yes, in case you missed it, this twit is admitting to good ol' Roy's behavior.

So much for denials.

The real problem though will be the deplorables' continued worship of Trump, defending anything.

I am a rare bird, a genuine native:)

I lived 2 miles north of florida. I was down there a lot. Northern florida is southern for sure. But central FL down... it's another world.

The south fought the civil war for many reasons. Preserving slavery was just one of them. And to be accurate, slavery only became a rallying call for the north in the third year of the war when things were not going that well on the battlefield....hence the Emancipation Proclamation. Prior to that, the north was fighting primarily to keep the union together. That was obviously a righteous and noble cause, however to suggest that the north went to war primarily to end slavery is ignorance.

Why did the South secede?

Yeah, and we spend our time hoping they won't...

This is a strange comment for a Jehovah's Witness to make (even in jest) considering the headquarters of your church are in New York!!! As a JW you shouldn't be encouraging divisiveness based on politics, race, region or even religion, even in jest. Now I have you pegged and why as a JW you are posting on a political forum. I don't believe you are an active member of the church.

And you've mistaken me for someone who cares what you, an apostate, thinks...lol...

Yeah I was going to say, there is as much poverty in the white communities as the black communities. It's terrible. I lived in a town once called Scottsboro, Alabama. You might have heard of it. Scottsboro boys? Well I worked as a 911 dispatcher there, and the cops used to joke over the radio, "Let's see who can pull over a "N" first (and of course they used the word). Within minutes, we'd get a call to run a driver's license number, and it would be for a person of color. That cop "won." This was 20 years ago, not in the 50s.

I hear of this all the time, because I still have family in the very rural areas, where whites won't be seen by doctors if they are PoC, they won't live in neighborhoods if there are PoC there. I live in a neighborhood in Georgia where some of the families here got angry because PoC were moving in, and they threatened to sell their houses and leave.

Racism is here and isn't going anywhere. I live here, and see it every single day. Anybody who says there isn't racism in the South is pulling your dick.

That being said, there is racism everywhere, and the more rural your community, the more racist it becomes.

Yeah, racism is everywhere. Quite a bit of my family is racist. Thankfully, as much as my parents annoy me with their political views, I'm glad they aren't racist.

wikipedia has sources for their information listed in it. Maybe you can complain about those instead?

Wikipedia articles can also be edited by the reader. That makes it little more then a blog. For that reason, we cannot take it serious as a source, no matter what sources it lists.

Why did the South secede?

Which part of what I posted did you not understand? The south's motivations for seceding, valid or not, were the same motivations that led them to start a civil war.

If you have nothing of value to post -- why post anything?

Anyone can post brainless cliches but it doesn't nothing to further discussion.

Aw, whassamatta? You have to take a shot at not what I say, but how I say it?

 Priceless, dood.

OK - the non-cliche version of my comment, so as to keep you from being butthurt, is this. It's not OK for your daughter to date a 32 year old man, but it's OK for everybody else's daughter to date a 32 year old man. (that's, you know, what I meant by being good for the goose but not the gander, in case you didn't quite understand).

It's blatant hypocricy that is so typical from certain strains of the right. "As long as it doesn't affect me, I don't give one damn how it affects others."

Nothing surprising here.

I copied this post of mine from another thread. Sorry if you are seeing it twice. But I thought it might fit well in this thread as well.

I currently live in Alabama and participate in an Alabama political forum that is about 60% alt-right, Bannonite folks, perhaps 30% moderates and independents most of who vote Republican, and about 10% Democrats and liberals. This isn't the voter mix for Alabama, as about 35% of the voters voted for Clinton in the last election. Of the 65% or so that voted for Trump, many are Republicans who just held their nose and voted Republican, and quite a few were independents who just didn't like Clinton. There's a lot of stupid people in Alabama too, and they mostly voted for Trump under the delusion that he was going to improve their lives.

The alt-right, Bannon followers on the Alabama forum are all-in for Roy Moore. They deny that Roy Moore has done anything wrong and label Doug Jones a baby-killer. These guys are going to vote, and vote for Moore. A lot of the independents and moderate Republicans on the Alabama forum are just going to stay home and not vote. The white Democrats are energized. I'm a volunteer for Doug Moore and have been making those pesky political phone calls on his behalf. The majority of Democrats I talk to are going to vote but I'm getting a good bit of apathy from African-Americans. The African-American vote is extremely important in this race (to the Democrats). I'm concerned that they may not be energized to get out and vote. Doug Jones did prosecute KKK members for killing 4 young girls in a Birmingham church and most of the African-Americans I have talked to know that. I'm hoping that this, plus the sexual molestation press coverage will be enough to get the African-Americans out to vote.

I think it's going to be close. Interestingly, I'm seeing more Doug Jones signs than Roy Moore signs in my area. I think this may be because people are ashamed to show they support Roy Moore.

Why should I concern myself with the opinions of other parents whose ideas differ from mine?

Are you ready to take on the hundreds of thousands of citizens who don't mind if their 16 year old daughters date older men?
What are you going to tell them? How will you convince them that they are morons? Moreover, why do you think it's your business as long as they're not breaking the law?

Are you ready to take on Muslims that allow underage girls to marry? How are you going to convince them that they are flipping cultists and a danger to society?

Do you really have any clue as to what you're talking about?

I didn't think so.

That's at least the third time I have seen someone mention the 63 bombing case that Jone's prosecuted. Good on hi for prosecuting that case, however it's not going to jump start a political career so many years later. Bugliosi(spelling?) in California learned that lesson the hard way when he touted decades later that he prosecuted Charles Manson. Did not help him a while back when he ran for governor.

Which is why you check the sources provided if you have doubts.

I know... That's too much work. Facts are hard.

if you want your sources taken seriously provide legitimate sources to begin with....that are not editable by the reader. I am not going to do your homework for you by chasing down listed sources. I do not bother to even click on wikipedia articles.

Just like I said. Just another conservative who doesn't give a **** about other people, as long as it doesn't affect them.

And just another liberal who wants to control the opinions and actions of everyone else.

Fascinating.

Slavery, specifically the preservation there of.
