In typical Trump fashion, Trump shirks any responsibility for Gillespie's loss even though Trump made robo calls for him and visited his VA. golf course over 16 times making "quasi" campaign visits on behalf of Gillespie.

Now, had Gillespie won, I can hardly imagine how much credit Trump would have tried to take for the victory.............lol

I'm not seeing anything that shows he threw Gillespie under the buss?

Did a link not load or something?

The rules the Donald follows all begin with the letter D - just like his name.

Deceit.
Denial.
Depravity.
Distraction.

and one he really Despises - Defeat. He Despises Defeat. So when his man in Virginia went down to defeat, Trump employed a couple of other D's to throw him under the bus, those being Distance and Diminish.

Trump attempted to Distance himself from Gillespie by Distancing himself from the Defeated loser by claiming that the candidate did not embrace Trump enough and Diminish his campaign and his effort. And if he can have any success doing this, he can Distract from the abysmal train wreck that is Trump himself. We see these sort of tactics played out over and over again.

And of course, let us not forget the greatest and most Dominant D of them all - DELUSIONAL for that is Trumps true state of mind.

It would have done to have a link posted on the OP then just coming out, and claiming something with no context added.

I did find this with a little digging, though I am searching though, and researching for validity.

Still its no surprise that people are getting a little butt-hurt over tweets. Even if he was in the wrong or not. The quicker we get off that damn platform the better.

Gillespie ran one of the most low energy campaigns I have ever seen in Virginia during my 31 years living here.

Trump had little to do with his losing.

Besides that, Northam is a very decent man who is well liked by local republicans and democrats. He is a moderate who even voted twice for George Bush. I have known him personally since the 1990's from the times I attended some of the events for raising money for the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters (Norfolk). I have met his wife Pam on more than a few occasions when she was doing the outreach coordinator work for saving the Lynnhaven river........a very nice lady.

I don't don't care for his gun stance, but I like his other policies enough to vote for him

I thought you were describing Hillary and the DNC for a bit there. Most of it fits them.
BTW you forgot to use "Deplorable".

Perhaps the local dogcatcher post is still available.

Can you folks on the far right ever Develop the Discipline to avoid the knee jerk automatic response of Defending your own by attacking Democrats who you have been programmed to Despise?

According to a story this morning in Richmond's daily paper the consensus among Republican bigwigs in the state is that Trump was a major factor, at least the reason for the size of Northram's victory and its coattail effect on the legislative race, all but sweeping away the Republican majority.

Trump winning was a wake up call for dems. They came out and voted. I hope they will continue to do that in 2020.

Some people will never admit that Virginia is going from purple to permanent blue. You can call it a referendum if you like, but I see it as a transitioning that has been going on since the early 2000's. The hay seeds to the west are vastly outnumbered by the voters in north and the Charlottesville area.
