Trump urges North Korea to 'make a deal' regarding nuclear weapons program

And Trump will thank the Chinese for their efforts...and nobody will mention WHY the Chinese applied pressure. In other words, Trump will gladly let China save face...as long as the job gets done.

I doubt it.

I don't think Trump is quite as gullible at Obama was.

He not as smart you mean. There will be no negotiations until Trump admits that NK won't be giving up their nukes EVER. The genie is out of the bottle. All we can talk about is limiting the numbers and capability in return for lifting sanctions.

Your contention that I know nothing of the Iran deal is unfounded, but I didn't spout an opinion about it. I spouted an opinion about Trump and Obama.

Republicans and conservatives like you are learning that it's easy to criticize and difficult to actually do stuff. If Trump gets a deal from NK it will have some compromises to NK because that's how deals work. And liberal critics will criticize the deal because that's what critics do.

Now lets look at just how utterly incompetent Trump really is.

Donald Trump said:
I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful Secretary of State, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man...

1. First he said negotiation was pointless now he's changing his tune. Obviously, the adults in the room talked some sense into him.

2. He calls Kim Jong-un "Rocket Man." Is insulting a lunatic a good way to start negotiations?

3. He pushed to scrap the Iran deal. Why should NK make a deal with a country that doesn't honor its deals from one president to the next?

Forget comparing Trump to Obama. Trump is without question the biggest fool who has ever been president of the United States. Unlike you, I actually present facts to back up my opinions.

Edit:

Seems Jong-un loves name calling too. Maybe Trump will come up with a new name to call Kim Jong-un to win the namecalling war.

Kim Jong-un said:
"No one can predict when the lunatic old man of the White House, lost to senses, will start a nuclear war against [North Korea].”

The reason you are totally wrong about this whole thing is because you don't realize that our "deal" won't be with NK. Our deal will be with China...and we have China by the short hairs. They ensure NK ends their nuclear and missile programs...and China continues to do business with the US.

This whole "get NK to the table" is just tactical rhetoric. It's designed to give China the chance to look good by "convincing" NK to talk. By the time anyone comes to the table, the deal will be done.

China sells around $500 Billion in goods to the US. They sell around $3-4 Billion to NK. Trump and the UN have put very strict sanctions in place...especially Trump.

Now...tell me...do you seriously think China is going to give up $500 Billion+ from the US? Per year? All to protect NK's nuclear and missile programs? Do you seriously think China has "no incentive"?

Furthermore, it really isn't necessary to overthrow Rocketman's regime, though that wouldn't be a bad thing.

China has the rest of the entire world to trade with. Do you think Trump will destroy our economy by imposing a trade embargo on China? I don't think China does either. It is not a viable threat anymore than a military solution for NK is.
BTW According to the US military the only way to secure NK's nuclear sites is a ground invasion and a 2nd Korean war. Do you really think that is an option? You do know the Chinese will come in again if we did invade.

Let me get this straight: You believe NK will give up their nuclear program without American concessions? Are you serious?

NK will do whatever China tells them to do.

China is the one who will get the concessions...along with the ability to trade with NK again.

NK will do whatever China tells them to do.

That's not true. It's never been true.

Koreans and Chinese have a long history full of conflict. China and North Korea are allies only to an extent. China has abandoned communism as an economic philosophy. Why hasn't NK?

The NK won't give up their nuclear program without getting something in return. That nuclear program is the only leverage they have. It's their only protection from invasion. The Chinese have repeatedly pointed out that the "do not hold the key."

NK will demand that we remove our troops from the South and stop military exercises and sign an agreement not to invade and China to sign an agreement to defend in case of invasion. That's the kind of insane agreement it would take for NK to give up their program.

If China squeezes them too hard they will start atmospheric testing of nuclear weapons because nukes are their only leverage. If they are facing extinction then war is their only option.

You got to admit, Trump's got balls. I don't like him but he is a fighter. Picks a fight with NK and telling them to make a deal.

Trump's a knucklehead, all balls and no brain. It is a losing combination.

National leaders who were "fighters" have not fared well throughout history. Diplomacy is wiser and more prudent. Fighters start wars and wars create misery and poverty.

At least he's not ignoring the NK problem like the last 3 Presidents have. Kicking this problem down the road makes THEM the knuckleheads.

Fighters finish wars.

Trump is making things worse with NK and making the US look even more impotent in the World. Only a moron President would lower himself to Kim's level and pick fights he cannot win with a 2 bit dictator. But like a true believer you find some way to rationalize his bizarre behavior. You are his enabler and it is sad.

Kim Dingdong needs a slap in the face. That little prick and his father have been thorns in our ass for far too long. Trump's showing him that we aren't going to be bullied anymore.

I know i know...you want Trump to bow to his demands and lick his ass. Well..that ain't happening.

Diplomacy didn't work out so well for Chamberlain back in 1938 or for Kuwait back in 1990...just to name a couple instances. In both cases, the "fighters" had to step in and resolve the situations.

You should feel fortunate that we have a President who is very capable of diplomacy and who is also a fighter, should that prove to be necessary.
