Texas rangers: Armed citizen ‘engaged’ killer, ending rampage

I don't think the neighbor who initially confronted and pursued Kelly has been identified. Langendorff is the second hero.

Today's mass shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, was only halted after an armed Texan "engaged" the killer and put an end to the rampage, the Texas Rangers reported.

Yeah...if only there had been proper gun control measures so that this dishonorably discharged vet (who was discharged for violence against his wife and child) wouldn't have gotten a firearm to begin with. But I get it - much better for 20-odd people to die before somebody's able to shoot him than to prevent him from getting a firearm to begin with....

As someone who has been in the navy, it was illegal for him to have obtained a weapon to begin with. Gun laws did not stop anything here.

Are you trying to say you think a criminal will follow the law?

So the tally for the day is:
-26 for gun rights
+1 for gun rights

I'm not sure how anyone can look at those events and see a 'win' for any Americans. We all lose.

Right, we just don't lose our gun rights. That's what you don't like.
Also, the tally for drunk driver killings in the last day is 28.
When will we end drinking? What's that? Never? OK.
Well, if we can keep killing 28 folks a day just to tip a bottle, then I guess we can also suffer some injury in the name of allowing others to have a means of self defense.
Life is dangerous. You will die at some point, irregardless of any laws.

It wasn't a win for any Americans. It was further evidence that our society is in decay.
But, what of the other 20 some odd that would have been killed had the killer not been stopped?
