Given the quote (attributed to Mark Twain) he used about not fearing death and why, that along with "liking" atheism, being into social justice and civil rights, I would take an
educated guess and say he was liberal Christian. Possibly a convert to atheism. But for now I'm thinking probably a liberal Christian. You know... all into the LGBTQ, and anyone warning that if a guy kills little children he might be damned to hell, is
cruel for saying such things. Because even if you gun 20 some odd people to death in a small church, God is sooooo cotton candy, lovey dovey, everybody gets into heaven even the mass killer of a Texas church.
Oh but wait... don't liberals and conservatives want to use scare tactics (even if they are exaggerated lies) to
save lives by keeping people off drugs. Running media advertisements showing the horrific outcome of hell if you use drugs?
But it would be a big old meanie to scare potential mass murderers about the horrific outcome of eternal damnation in hell if they mass murdered people.
Why be Mother Teresa when a "just" God will simply allow unrepentant serial killers and mass killers into heaven? You all get the same winning trophy.
Not that drug use can't screw your life up, cause hell on earth for you, nor get you damned to hell. But if you survive another a day at least you have a chance to convert. And you sure aren't gunning pregnant women down.
I remember the good old days when the normal bad guy just got zooted high, and was so superficial he got a hot looking hooker or wife. Those were the good old days.
