Has it become the norm? This is so sad and has become out of control. And yes politics and race plays a major role of how these mass shootings are reported to the masses. :peace

OK thoughts and prayers goes out to the victims and their families.
Now Dems go to the left corner GOP head over to the right corner! Here are your talking points depending on the race of the shooter.
GOP you go 1st.
If black it's a gang banger thug who should not have a gun.
If Mexican it's a non legal immigrant who shouldn't be here in the 1st place (even if he or she was born here)
If Muslim it's an act of terror.
If white let's wait and figure this out let's understand what happen and why.
Dems your turn.
No matter the race of the shooter we need more gun control.
So sad we can't come together as Americans and stop this nonsense.
And the list just grows

I am personally sick of the over-analyzing, as well as the blame game...people are dead...there is much hatred and evil in the world...:(

What will it take then?

There is a culture of violence in America which makes the 2nd amendment a target for "noodle knee" Americans like yourself.

People like you rely on blaming innocent law abiding people, inanimate objects, and race baiting, instead addressing the culture problem.

I have no problem with the 2nd amendment and have not bought up guns.

I guess you didn't get the memo. "Thoughts and prayers are useless gestures, and quite offensive, according to your fellow liberals.

Like the cultural problem which values an inanimate object far more than human life?

Okay but I'm independent. And once again no insightful thoughts just a shot at Dems thanks I expect it.

You brought up every other nonsensical race baiting junk though............. didn't you!

I assume you watch more then one News outlet these are the political talking points all the time depending on race. Just ask your president.

That is a load of crock and you know it.............errrrrrr...............or maybe you don't.

It has more to do with people abusing a right that 99.9% of law abiding American's take very serious.

Come see me in 30 years if I'm still around. Your world is about to be rocked young man/lady.

If thoughts and prayers worked, there wouldn't be any more shootings.

Hypothetical scenario:

A popular nightclub hosts a heavy metal band and draws a crowd of 200-450 people.

At 11:36 pm, gunshots ring out and pandemonium breaks out as the crowd panics and flees to the exits. There are multiple people in the club who are licensed to conceal carry their hand guns. The shooter (or shooters) are somewhere in the crowded nightclub, firing their weapons into the crowd.

The scenario above is what I think nullifies the notion that a concerned citizen with a firearm could prevent a shooting, if the shooter is amongst a crowd he is camouflaged

Unfortunately seems that higher power is on vacation.

Have you ever heard the old saying "give a man enough rope and he'll hang himself"...

Yes, Americans take their myths very seriously, and the elevation of the gun to a sort of holy relic has long been tied into our culture. The sneering sense of superiority Americans often show when it comes to discussing the subject where they refer to people from places where guns are merely seen as a tool as "sheeple "is even more absurd.

Look at your words.

Holy relic

Myths

Your prejudice and emotions have taken over, and the opportunity for critical thinking has already been wasted.

Because the idea that guns are anything more than tools is a myth. The idea that any sort of untrained rabble could prevent an actually oppressive American government---not the fantasies of what such government would be like, but an actual, real deal government which was set on oppressing people--- no matter how many deer rifles they had is a myth.

The gun is a holy relic in American society. We would rather have little kids gunned down by the dozen than make it even mildly harder to prevent such an incident from occurring again. That shows there is a culture issue at play here, and a serious problem.

No matter what I say....................you will keep on posting this crapola anyways.

Have a great day!

There are issues at the very center of American culture which need to be addressed. However, from what I've seen personally as well as read about, the newer generations are less fixated on the American founding myths. Perhaps in thirty five years or so we'll see some actual movement.

You have a great day too.
