Do you refuse to go to movies based upon the politics of the actors?

The first two and the reboot of FF were all awful.

Why can't some people just watch a movie without feeling like some insidious "political agenda" is afoot? Finn and Poe are not going to be gay. Some group calling for it doesn't mean it's going to happen. Unclench and stop watching so much Fox News, for crying out loud. And even if they do turn out to be gay, WHO CARES? Why is that so awful?

We see what these people do and say off the job.....CONSTANTLY .

And then there is The Oscars.

That would never occur to me. I see movies on their content and if it appeals to me.

And I hear that TV is better now and we know about Netflix and Amazon making their own stuff now and there are loads of complaints that movies are losing their appeal because they are not as good as they should be. Given how this thread has gone I have to suspect that the politics of the actors likely is not the problem though Hollywood pushing their biases through their product very well might be.
 
To a degree.

I admit I am a huge movie fan. I used to go to 2-4 a week at one point. But now it is rare if I even go once a year. The last movie I saw in the theater was Deadpool.

For the most part, they have mostly become crap, and the actors meaningless. And it does not help that they keep wanting to shove their personal and political beliefs into my face.

You think that anybody who supports XXX is a racist idiot, then they should probably not go and watch your movie. I am so freaking sick and tired of these celebrities of any genre who think they have some kind of right to preach to me or anybody else because they make a living pretending to be somebody else. Or get up in front of a crowd and sing. Or play games with a ball.

I am pretty much sick of all of it. I have largely cut all ties with "modern culture", having little to no use for it. The music all sounds like crap, the movies are simply rehashes of movies made 10-40 years ago, just changed around (or even worse, having little but the name in common with the original).

Naw, I largely do not care. Of course, I have not supported them in years, and do not see that changing any time soon.
 
Tom Cruise's behavior has soured me on ever going to watch another Tom Cruise movie. I can't take him seriously anymore. Same with Mel Gibson.

For the most part, unless it is exceptional, I don't even care.

I only go to see 4-5 movies annually in a theater though.

But too often, activism gets involved. Even George Takai didn't like that they made Sulu gay.
