No very intelligent person has to say that they are constantly. Stop blaming the media for showing us how dumb you really are:

(CNN)President Donald Trump wasn't scheduled to talk to the press on Wednesday. He spent the morning at the White House and was set to jet off to a fundraiser in Dallas this evening.

Except that as he walked to Marine One, which was idling on the White House lawn, Trump stopped to take a few shouted questions from reporters. Then a few more. And a few more. He spent better than 15 minutes talking about Niger, La David Johnson, Jeff Flake, Ivy League schools, his memory, standing ovations, "my generals," uranium and Watergate.
It was, in a word, amazing. And, before Trump came into office, totally unprecedented.

At this point the best/healthiest course of action would be to turn off Trump TV, ignore and impeach...

They better get on the stick, my 3.15.18 Trump departure date is starting to look a little iffy for my liking.

The thing is, Trump is very intelligent. You do not get to be president by being stupid. However, like every intelligent person, he sometimes does stupid things. And like many intelligent people who are used to success one way, he is not adapting well when those ways do not work any more. The thing that is dangerous however is to underestimate his ability. He will almost certainly be the presidential candidate in 2020, and his way did work to get him elected once despite the odds, and if we underestimate his ability, he might do it again.

Ever the diplomat Redress and I commend you for it.

But his election says a lot more about the state of the body politic itself, than Trump and well... It's not good.

It does say alot about the "state of the body politic itself", and not good things. However, out of dozens of candidates at the start of 2016, he was the one who figured out how to make it work for him. It does not matter how bad the state of the body politic is, you still have to appeal to them, and in the right places. Trump did this.

I think you may be conusing intelligence with cunning and charisma.

He demonstrates none of the depth of thought common to the intelligent.

Maybe in the past. He used to speak much more eloquently and with none of the word hash he is prone to now.

My grandchildren have a better vocabulary than Trump.

I'm going to explain to you why Trump was elected.

When we had George Bush as president or the previous candidates that ran for the Republican Party they were very self-conscious about being seen or dubbed a (something)ist or a (blah blah)ophobe. This made them beholden two people who would use that attack against them.

Trump just shrugs It Off, masterfully. People love seeing that. Often times those accusations are used to not really label someone that way but try to get them to abandon their position or their attack on opponents to defend themselves. If you are defending yourself you are losing. If he doesn't defend himself and continues to attack well he isn't losing anything.

A change in strategy from Democrat voters and Democrat pendants would it be to stop attempting to label him such. I would think Democrats would understand doing the same thing to get a different result is a form of insanity.

So just assume everyone that voted for Trump that will vote for him again is just a homophobic islamophobic klingonophobic bigot. Such people still maintain the right to vote. And if they outnumber people who will vote for Democrats in enough States the Democrat Party will simply lose again.

I think the reason why he ran was not really to become president. I think it was to show people particularly Republican candidates not to give a crap about the people that label them (blahblah)ophobic. And the dye could be cast.

So the best advice I could offer Democrat supporters, is put the accusation of fear-based hatred away that tool doesn't work very well anymore and rifle through your toolbox until you find another method to convince people to vote for Democrats.

The only problem I see with this is it would basically mean the abandonment of many of the Democratic platforms because they rely strongly on identity politics.

It would be good to see more moderate more centered Democrats abandoning that ship it is sinking. I don't think a one-party system will benefit anybody.

Trumps biggest problem is that he has no interest in anything, no desire to learn, he just doesn't care. All thats important is that he take credit for someone else's work.

I agree, intelligence isn't just about having book smarts. Trump understood that 2016 was his opportunity. He read the field correctly the entire way, and made experienced politicians look like amateurs.
