Mark Cuban challenging Trump in 2020?

As things stand now, neither party has anyone with sufficient stature other than Mark to capture the public's support, and the same from the back rooms where the decisions are made. If I'm still alive when Mark runs for the presidency, I'll be wagering on his being our next president.

Really? This is the only criteria needed now to get elected? Popularity?

Well, I cant really say it cant happen, now can I

Popularity? What were Trump's poll numbers?

I'm going with 'reasons' not numbers. There was zero factual foundation in his track record to believe he could do much of what he proposed and he rarely explained how he'd do it either. Funny, his voters never demanded it....lol

Really, it was the opposite that got him elected: Hillary was just that unpopular.

Yet, Hillary was supposed to be the most qualified person to ever run for the office. Too bad she had the charisma of a cornered rattlesnake.

I was no fan of hers but it's pretty funny that you seem to think her personality made such a big difference...and yet so many Trumpees just dismiss what a neanderthal he is.

He sold a company to a dumb company (Yahoo) that went bankrupt a year later.

He's either really lucky or a complete crook.

LOL... you are claiming he sunk yahoo? Read the article. He was making money from the start as a college kid and just hussled. He didn't start with "A small loan from my father of $1 million" then later inherit $200 million.

One thing is certain, Donald J Trump's win as a novice to politics is liable to bring out people from other walks of life other than lifelong politicians.

Which in my view will be one of the major accomplishments of the Trump presidency.

I would not vote for Mark Cuban.
Having said that Cuban does have many very positive attributes & positive accomplishments that Dick Head Trump will NEVER have.
How the Hell did Trump get elected? Oh, that's right; many were fooled, again ..................

Mark might wanna try lighting the damn Cigar, or is it a Cuban Smoke?

Selling garbage bags door to door is hustling?

I think normalizing bigotry is Trump's major accomplishment - that and making pathological lying popular.

Why? I don't know much about him besides watching Shark Tank.

He's not even that good on that show. He overpays his partners. The real stars on that show are Kevin and Lori Greiner.

Trump has opened the doors for political outsiders to run for and possibly win the presidency. Cuban would be ruthless enough to beat Trump at his own game. I remember reading some months ago that Trump and his goons like Bannon were worried about Cuban running, possibly doing exactly what Trump did in 2016.

Cuban running as a Republican would be very interesting though. I always assumed that if he ran, it would have been as a Democrat or third party.

I always got the impression Cuban was conservative but since he refused to support Trump people assumed he was a liberal.

Popularity has been part of the picture since Washington. It's not like American politics is known for statesmen.

Free beer for each vote. Free whiskey with each additional vote. And that was during prohibition. :)

You haven't been following the recent archeological anthropological discoveries thanks to DNA analysis. We're all part neanderthal. Allergies are part of their legacy for modern Homo Sapiens. Oh, the vanity!

If I had to bet money I would bet he is libertarian. But I don't know what party he would run as. I don't think he could win the Democratic primary. 3rd parties don't well but maybe he would have the star power to change that. And I don't know how it would work if he ran as a Republican. Cuban's problem would be more our party system rather than his popularity.

The one thing he would have going for him is lack of life in the political establishment. His business acumen would be a plus as well.

Buying a bar for $15,000 as a college student and making it the most popular spot in town. Then "Mark’s first business after university was MicroSolutions, a computer company which he sold after seven years to CompuServe in 1990 for a tidy sum of $6 million."

Then he created one of the first internet radio sites Broadcast.com... "it had its IPO in 1998, the stock got caught up in the dot-com frenzy and soared from $18 to $62.75 in a single day."

You can try to play his accomplishments down all you want. It only makes you look foolish. He made it all himself. He wasn't a spoiled rich brat born with a silver spoon up his ass like your dear leader.

Well innovation definitely puts him at least one (huge) step ahead of Trump.

And I'm not even a huge Mark Cuban fan. Mark was actually all on board with Trump when trump announced his running. Then changed his mind later. But since he changed his mind, the cult hordes are in attack mode.
