Dubya vs The Donald

Trump has definitely been wanting to run for president for a long time, and was looking for the right opportunity to do it. I believe the Democrats should be thanking their lucky stars that Trump ultimately ran as a Republican, because he's literally tearing that party apart. Even though the Republicans have the white house, the senate, and the house, they can barely get anything done because how divided they are, with Trump causing a lot of that division within the party.

I agree. There are around 15%, perhaps as much as 20% of lifelong Republicans who view Trump as an opportunistic interloper. They don't like him. Back during the primaries these lifelong Republicans became never-Trumpers. But in the end they voted for Trump, he was better than Hillary even if they didn't like Trump. Now that put congressional Republicans between a rock and a hard place for next year's midterms.

If they back Trump 100%, they would probably lose the independent vote and thus a lot of seats. If they go against Trump to try to regain or keep the independents, they run the chance of being primaried or losing Trump supporters in the general election. Next year is beginning to look like a very good one for the Democrats. But will that hold? Lot's of time to turn things around, but I don't think it will happen.

High time, I'd say. Let's just hope that whomever or whatever becomes the next more generally accepted source of truth is more honest than they.

Now it's just the fog of fake news. Everyone loses.

I never thought I'd say this, but despite not agreeing with him much politically, I desperately miss the good ol' days of having a rational adult in the White House.

Yes, I think we finally do.

You guys are truly deluded. you would rather a president who starts two wars of choice over one who says mean thing?

If it wasn't for Bush's stupidity in getting us involved in Iraq and Afghanistan Obama's Drone thing would be a moot point.

So you start your retort how you don't defend Obama, and but one post later, defend obama. Nice!

Just don't understand posts do you

You literally said you don't defend obama, then made the excuse he wouldn't have to drone mother ****ers if bush didn't start those wars....

when confronted with cognitive dissonance, often people will devolve into short dismissive comments as to not have to address the two competing thoughts in their head. You claimed you dont defend obama;s droning, but you just did. you are short circuiting trying to figure out what to do.

Okay now you're just stalking

Okay now you're just stalking

How does one stalk on the same thread on an internet forum? That's wierd bro. Seriously. If you look back the whole iraq and a-stan mess started with Bill Clinton and ran all the way to the current potus. to absolve one because he plays for your team is why they are able to continue the "endless wars".

I don't use ignore lists, I find I have self control to ignore douchebags by scrolling past thier posts. But whatever you need to avoid addressing the clear contradiction of your statements doesn't bother me one bit. Don't let the door hit ya!

Agreed, and in the process killed off any intelligent discussion about politics and public policy.

The center-right knows what it believes in, at least at the level of ideals, and it wants and expects the voters to approve of it. But the voters have made clear that they do not. The sensible response to this problem is not to keep stubbornly reaffirming those same rejected beliefs in the misplaced hope that the voters will suddenly come to their senses. It's to rethink those beliefs, transforming them into something that might have greater popular appeal — or else to retire from the arena, making room for new ideas and new champions.

Bush and McCain delivered a couple of nice speeches last week. But now it's time for them to go.
The center-right's empty idealism

Yep.....these two old fools dont even know that they failed, they are not that bright......it is time for them and a whole bunch of other failed leadership in Washington to disappear, they dont have what it takes.
