John Kelly on the Fallen Soldier Calls made by Trump. [W:33]

I answered honestly. I cannot help you with your lack of comprehension and your lack of a historical perspective on racial issues in this country. Take the case of Plessy v. Ferguson. By a vote of 7 to 1 in 1896, Segregation, Separate But Equal, became the Law of the Land for 58 years .... until overturned unanimously in 1954 by Brown v. Board of Education Topeka Kansas.

To paraphrase MLK Jr., I would like my four children (I have four daughters) to live in a society that judges them by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

Fletch, right now, today, we have, IMO, an undeniable racial divide in this country. You either recognize it or you don't. I strive to make progress in racial relations. You ignore reality if you deny a racial dichotomy continues to exist. Kelly gained little and lost a lot by repeatedly referring to Wilson as an Empty Barrel and staying absolutely mum about Trumps words and actions. Trump has a well-documented history of lies, crass comments, crass gestures, bully behavior and narcissism.

You won our little debate. Congratulations! We appear to not have made a dint of difference in each other's underlying view.

Frederica Wilson, born in Miami in an era of explicit and legal segregation, overcame long odds and racial barriers, to become a beacon of light in her community and a popular Congresswoman. General Kelly repeatedly referred to her as an Empty Barrel and as someone whose behavior on more than one occasion has stunned him!

The next time her voters go to the polls, I hope those voters keep in mind the importance of General Kelly and how General Kelly feels about her.

Saying that there is racism in this country is not evidence that Kellys statement was racist. His statement wasn't racist--the proof being that you have made the charge and been completely unable to back it up. You are engaged in smearing and race baiting, not honest discussion. If you are so concerned about actual racism in this country, perhaps you might not dilute it by crying racism where none exists.

He really wasn't - not about the Congresswoman and that event. He lied to smear her. Pretty straightforward what happened. Up to that last, shameless parting shot, you can perhaps plausibly say he was "dead on" but then he undid everything IMO, and it was unnecessary.

Unless Kelly was talking about something else, he was wrong.
The Cowgirl only patted herself on the back for getting the building dedication through quickly.

She was right about Kelly's comment about the funding (it was the building dedication, not the funding)
But she's still a loud empty barrel who was wrong in her original comment.

I have made it very, very clear to you and anyone else reading my posts why I considered Kelly's repeated references to Wilson as an Empty Barrel and Kelly's silence regarding Trump's words and actions as blatantly racist. Perhaps, but that's no excuse. If he didn't remember it, why bring it up? Why bring it up anyway? It was a gratuitous and we know dishonest parting shot, and he couldn't help himself. I really am saddened by it. He had the opportunity to be a person of integrity and he chose another path.

Presidents get attacked by wingnuts from the opposing party. It happened all the time to Obama and to Bush II and Clinton and Reagan. There is no obligation for a POTUS and, who I had thought honorable, Chief of Staff to get into the gutter with them.

There's a lot of emotions that heave up when someone is dealing with the death of a loved one. That Congresswoman is a whore in the way she has tried to politicize this.
There's a part of me that would like to bitch slap her with one of her glittery cowboy hats. And that whore is now claiming Gen. Kelly's comments were racist. This woman ranks below pond scum.

Well, OK, but the family just lost a son, and the Congresswoman a person she knew and loved. How about giving them all some leeway if we're being charitable here? That's not what Trump did (we expect this from Trump) or Kelly did in his speech, which is why I find it so repulsive - he should know better, frankly and he's pouring gas on the fire here, including a grieving family who is also affected by this nonsense, instead of being a better person.
